Tutors in higher education are receiving and responding to student disclosures that include racism, anxiety, loneliness, legal disputes, family upheavals, physical, emotional, mental health, bereavement, battles, harassment. In many cases, this caring aspect of the tutor role is not acknowledged, allocated time job descriptions, or accurately remunerated. This qualitative study explored how tutors experienced managed disclosures, personal professional impact believed they could be better supported. Data was collected from two cohorts participants tutoring at a University Aotearoa New Zealand. using interviews questionnaires analysed by reflexive thematic analysis. Our findings showed our were positioned vulnerably between rock hard place. Este estudio busca describir las actitudes y percepciones de estudiantes profesores universitarios sobre ansiedad depresión en el aprendizaje virtual tiempos pandemia. Se aplica un cuestionario cuantitativo a una muestra no probabilística El Salvador. realiza análisis factorial exploratorio se examinan diferencias estadísticamente significativas. Los resultados muestran según rol dependencia la universidad. No encuentran significativas entorno virtual. observa que políticas, estrategias acciones universitarias deben considerar características sociodemográficas fin garantizar abordaje integral eficaz condiciones comunidad académica. concluye los problemas psicológicos manifestados por participan educación durante pandemia COVID-19 están asociados significativamente entornos virtuales.

The present qualitative study explores challenges that influence student wellbeing and possible strategies to handle these challenges. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with university students from the faculty of sports sciences in a foundation university. researchers applied phenomenological approach through snowballing purposeful sampling. findings reveal five main impact negatively. Evidence from South Africa shows a high burden of mental health conditions and large treatment gap for uninsured people with common disorders. For young seeking healthcare, the primary care community settings are potentially more accessible appropriate, but public sector services in country mostly hospital-based. We undertook scoping review needs preferences care-based youth as well evaluations interventions Africa. A PubMed search using relevant terms was conducted, articles were evaluated based on set inclusion exclusion criteria. Of 405 publications search, 29 met criteria inclusion. Two additional papers included searching reference lists. Youth emphasized stigma barrier to healthcare highlighted importance considering local context when developing interventions. The community-based digital identified demonstrated feasibility acceptability efficacy. This provides foundation which base future implementation research advocate polices services.

Are behavioural risk factors clusters associated with self-reported health complaints? University students in Finland DOI Open Access

Objectives: No previous research of university students in Finland assessed lifestyle behavioural risk factors (BRFs) and categorized into clusters, explored the associations clusters with self-reported health complaints (HCs), whilst controlling for potential confounders. The current study undertook this task. Methods: Students at University Turku (1,177) completed an online well-being questionnaire that socio-demographic variables, 5 BRFs - problematic alcohol consumption, smoking, illicit drug use, food consumption habits, moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), 22 HCs. A frequency students' a range foods, dietary guideline adherence score was computed based on WHO recommendations Europe. Three separate regression models appraised between cluster membership HCs factors, adjusting sex, income sufficiency self-rated health. Results: Mean age 23 ± 5.2 years, 77% had never smoked 79% used drug/s. Factor analysis resulted four-factors (psychological, circulatory/breathing, gastro-intestinal, pains/aches); identified two distinctive student clusters. Cluster 1 represented more healthy who smoked/used drugs, no drinking, MVPA 4.42 3.36 days/week. As 2 students, half occasionally/daily, drug/s, > 50% drinking 4.02 3.12 More adhered to eating recommendations, but difference not significant Regression revealed females, those sufficient income, excellent/very good general were significantly less likely report all four psychological complaints, circulatory/breathing gastro-intestinal complaints.
