Abstract Purpose Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have shown potential in managing eating disorders (EDs). Recent studies highlight their effects on pathophysiological pathways, indicating therapeutic promise, particularly for binge disorder (BED). This systematic review evaluates the of GLP-1 BED, focusing weight management and behaviors. Methods A search PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Cochrane Library, along with manual searches, identified assessing BED patients up to November 8, 2024. Observational clinical trials meeting inclusion criteria were analyzed. Results Five (182 participants) included. Patients receiving experienced greater loss (− 3.81 kg; 95% CI − 5.14 2.49; p < 0.01, I 2 : 59.88%) compared controls. significantly reduced BMI 1.48 kg/m ) waist circumference 3.14 cm). Binge Eating Scale (BES) scores improved 8.14 points; 13.13 3.15; 0.01), though heterogeneity was noted. Conclusions underscores role management. However, given limited data, especially concerning EDs other than long-term these medications, further comprehensive are recommended evaluate impact various different across diverse demographic groups. Abstract Objective This review investigated the extant literature regarding relationship between eating disorder diagnoses and sensory processing as measured by validated reliable self‐report inventories. Increasing evidence highlights role of in cognitive functions. Sensory is implicated mental‐ill health, including disorders (ED) body image disturbances. However, pathophysiological underpinnings processing, encompassing exteroception interoception, relation to ED remain underexplored. Method We included studies involving participants aged 15 years or older with an diagnosis confirmed semi‐structured structured interviews. further limited inclusion articles using instruments measure processing. Our meta‐analysis focused on interoceptive awareness subscale from second version Eating Disorder Inventory. used Critical Appraisal checklist for quasi‐experimental assess quality articles. Results There were 19 that met our criteria. Most showed moderate‐to‐high quality. Anorexia nervosa (AN) bulimia (BN) associated heightened exteroception. Moreover, people AN reported a sense taste compared those BN. comprising 10 studies, samples, 6382 revealed (binge‐purge subtype) BN increased difficulties (restrictive binge‐eating disorder. This systematic review explores the associations between qualitative/quantitative changes in gut microbiota and psychopathological symptoms or other clinical features patients with eating disorders (EDs). Secondary outcomes include exploring EDs potential relationships psychotropic drug use. A search was conducted across biomedical databases from inception to June 2024 according PRISMA guidelines. The risk of bias assessed, a narrative synthesis performed due heterogeneity outcomes. Only findings related anorexia nervosa (AN) were identified. Ten studies, which seven longitudinal, two cross-sectional, one interventional (N = 350 AN, 304 HCs), included. Despite no clear links diversity metrics being observed, specific taxa belonging phylum Firmicutes, such as Clostridium, Roseburia, Lactobacillus, Faecalibacterium, Bifidobacterium Actinobacteriota correlated ED psychopathology, including anxiety depressive symptoms. Changes symptoms, well altered behaviours by modulating inflammation insulin pathways through short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), that also lead neurotransmitter imbalances. Further studies are required replicate these finding explore whether similar patterns observed EDs.

Background/Objectives: Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by profound physical and psychological transformations, often leading to vulnerabilities such as body dissatisfaction, identity challenges, the use of maladaptive coping strategies. This leads body-related psychopathologies, including headaches, restrictive eating disorders, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The present study aimed describe typical functioning features these conditions differences between three groups, identify most effective assessment for predicting conditions. Methods: Sixty adolescent patients (51 female; mean age = 15.34 ± 1.80) were divided into groups: NSSI, assessed in symptoms, cognitive performance, personality, functioning, illness severity using semi-structured interviews, clinician-based scales, performance-based tests like Rorschach inkblot test, according Performance Assessment System (R-PAS). Results: Individuals with headaches experienced more internalizing had an average IQ, maintained some areas, distorted patterns self–other relationships tendency project malevolent aspects onto others. Patients disorders high levels depressive above-average IQ scores, negative moderate presence obsessive–compulsive personality traits, disorganized thinking, interpret situations subjectively. NSSI showed highest level symptoms social anxiety considerable psychotic perceptual distortions. Negative borderline psychosis strongest predictivity. Conclusions: provides clinicians relevant insights highlights strategies, tailored interventions, enhanced outcomes vulnerable populations.

The aims describe the prevalence of their correlation with nutritional habits factors within Spanish population. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional design was employed. Using non-probabilistic snowball sampling, an electronic survey released. total 22,181 adults were evaluated, excluding those any pathology or limitation at time response that could potentially affect diet, such as hospitalization confinement. validated Nutritional Social Healthy Habits (NutSo-HH) scale used collect data on nutrition, lifestyle, habits, socio-demographic variables. Descriptive inferential statistics used. Non-parametric tests applied due non-normal distribution. Results: Of sample subject (80.8% female), a number 260 individuals reported Disorder. Disorder higher in women than men (239 vs. 21 respectfully; 91.9%). Individuals exhibited poorer indices (p < 0.001), consumption ultra-processed fast food sugary soft drinks = 0.01), worse sleep quality 0.001). Although dedicated activity not different, more sedentary had lower status 0.11 for sport practice). Behavioral regulation plays key role managing BED, highlighting need personalized intervention strategies. Conclusions: associated life. ABSTRACT Background Eating disorders (EDs) are a group of mental diseases marked by disrupted eating behaviors, and associated with several factors. Medical students highly exposed to this disorder prevalence 17.35% in 2022. Objective To evaluate the risk EDs its factors among medical Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Methods A web‐based cross‐sectional study was conducted MENA region during months June July 2024. The primary data collection instrument comprehensive questionnaire that contained Attitudes Test (EAT‐26) sociodemographic clinical features designed using Google Forms distributed via social media platforms. Results total number participants 5061. mean age our population 22.58 ± 3.27. Our population's average EAT‐26 score 13.87 10.7, ranges varying from 0 72. Based on their scores being 20 or above, 1254 people (24.8%) were deemed be at EDs. Among participants, 8% underweight. multivariable logistic regression model revealed such as T1DM, schizophrenia, autism, female gender, IBD, daily exposure thin body ideal. Regular sports practice weight satisfaction protective Conclusion There exists higher individuals for development especially females, comorbidities, those having conflictual relationships parents.
