Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) lacks a simple and relatively accurate predictor. The Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) Index is proxy of insulin resistance, but the association between TyG DKD less certain. We investigated if can predict onset effectively.Cross-sectional longitudinal analyses were undertaken. In total, 1432 type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients included in cross-sectional analysis. (calculated by ln [fasting triglycerides (mg/dL) × fasting glucose (mg/dL)/2]) was split into three tertiles. Associations with microalbuminuria estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 mL/min/1.73 m2 calculated. Longitudinally, 424 without at baseline followed up for 21 (range, 12-24) months. main outcome prevalence as defined eGFR or continuously increased urinary microalbuminuria: creatinine ratio (>30 mg/mL) over 3 Cox regression used to analyze DKD. Receiver operating characteristics curve (ROC) analysis assess sensitivity specificity predicting DKD.In analysis, higher had risk (OR = 2.342, 95% CI 1.744-3.144, p < 0.001), (1.696, =1.096-2.625, 0.018). 94 participants developed After confounder adjustment, high tertile greater developing than those low (HR 1.727, 1.042-2.863, 0.034). area under ROC 0.69 (0.63-0.76).The potential predictor T2DM patients.Clinical Trials identification number NCT03692884.

Obesity has become a global health concern, with its prevalence steadily increasing in recent decades. It is associated numerous complications, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. The aetiology obesity multifactorial, involving genetic, environmental, lifestyle factors. In years, oxidative stress emerged as potential contributor to related metabolic disorders. Dietary antioxidants, which can counteract stress, have gained significant attention for their role preventing managing obesity. This comprehensive review aims explore the impact dietary antioxidants on dysregulations, discussing underlying mechanisms highlighting therapeutic implications.

Glucose metabolism in the kidney is currently foremost minds of nephrologists, diabetologists and researchers globally, as a result outstanding success SGLT2 inhibitors reducing renal cardiovascular disease individuals with diabetes. However, these exciting data have come puzzling but fascinating paradigm that many beneficial effects on system seem to be independent systemic glucose lowering actions agents. This manuscript places into context an area research highly relevant metabolism, glycogen accumulation diabetic kidney. Whether abnormally accumulates pathological (the villain), somehow protective hero) or inconsequential bystander) question may provide insight link between diabetes disease.
