Introduction A key objective of soybean breeding programs is to enhance nutritional quality for human and animal consumption, with improved fatty acid (FA) composition health benefits, expand use industrial applications. Methods We conducted a metabolite genome-wide association study (mGWAS) identify genomic regions associated changes in FA ratios seeds influenced by environmental factors. This mGWAS utilized 218 plant introductions (PIs) grown two field locations Virginia over years. Results The revealed that 20 SNPs were significantly 21 ratios, while additional suggestive found 36 highlighting potential quantitative trait loci linked composition. Discussion Many these are located near or within the genes related phytohormone-mediated biotic abiotic stress responses, suggesting involvement factors modulating seeds. Our findings provide novel insights into genetic influencing oilseeds. research also lays foundation developing stable markers develop cultivars tailored profiles different practical applications under variable growth conditions.

ABSTRACT Over millions of years interactions, plants have developed complex defense mechanisms to counteract diverse insect herbivory strategies. These defenses encompass morphological, biochemical, and molecular adaptations that mitigate the impacts herbivore attacks. Physical barriers, such as spines, trichomes, cuticle layers, deter herbivores, while biochemical include production secondary metabolites volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The initial step in plant's involves sensing mechanical damage chemical cues, including oral secretions herbivore‐induced VOCs. This triggers changes plasma membrane potential driven by ion fluxes across plant cell membranes, activating signal transduction pathways. Key hormonal mediators, jasmonic acid, salicylic ethylene, orchestrate downstream responses, VOC release biosynthesis. review provides a comprehensive analysis responses herbivory, emphasizing early late mechanisms, encompassing physical cascades, synthesis, phytohormone signaling, epigenetic regulation.

The increasing problem of insect pest infestation in agriculture and its impact on crop production productivity require a thorough understanding identification efficient control solutions. This review explores the effects infestations seed quality with focus nutritional value, particular, protein content, sugar levels, mineral composition, vitamin C concentration, antioxidant activity, phenolic content. paper compiles current studies diverse impacts pests, including Hessian flies, Russian wheat aphids, Sunn fruit others, various crops such as wheat, soybeans, mung beans, durum bread olives, citrus fruits. Integrated management (IPM) techniques implementation digital technologies are highlighted crucial methods for maintaining ensuring food security. provides more emphasis morphological characterization response to well development practical lowering losses raising agricultural products by adopting multidimensional approach durable management.
