The tamarillo, or Solanum betaceum, recognized for its comprehensive nutritional profile, has long been valued diverse ethnobotanical uses. This study delves into the potential therapeutic applications of S. betaceum by analyzing polyphenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC), anti-skin aging activities against key enzymes like elastase, tyrosinase, and hyaluronidase, cytotoxic effects on oral carcinoma cells. Extracts from seeds, pulp, peel red yellow fruits were prepared using methanol, ethanol, acetone. highest TPC was found in methanol extract fruit seeds (9.89 mg GAE/g), TFC (3.02 QUE/g). Some these extracts significantly inhibited skin aging-associated with seed (100 μg/mL) showing up to 50.4% inhibition tyrosinase. Additionally, obtained demonstrated anticancer Ca9-22 cells inhibiting cell survival, migration, proliferation as well inducing apoptosis. These results underscore extracts, especially promising agents applications, meriting further exploration

Astaxanthin is a kind of carotenoid with strong antioxidant ability, which has shown broad applications in the areas healthcare, medicine, cosmetics, food additives, and aquaculture. With increasing demand for natural products, microbial production astaxanthin become new hot spot. In this study, synthesis pathway was first metabolically constructed Komagataella phaffii (K. phaffii)(Pichia pastoris). By exploring combination different promoters, producers were obtained. Then, key enzymes explored, enzyme assembly strategies an increase NADPH supply used to improve production. Furthermore, fermentation parameters including temperature, concentration carbon source, nitrogen sources, metal ions, BHT (2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol), Tween-80 comprehensively investigated growth synthesis. Finally, reached 716.13 mg/L by fed-batch 5 L bioreactor, highest synthesized K. phaffii.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in plant pigments as readily available nutraceuticals. Photosynthetic pigments, specifically chlorophylls and carotenoids, renowned for their non-toxic antioxidant properties, are increasingly finding applications beyond health-promoting attributes. Consequently, is an ongoing need cost-effective methods of isolation. This study employs co-precipitation method to synthesize magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) confirms that aqueous environment oxidizing conditions yield nanosized particle sizes ranging from 80 140 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectra indicate the presence hydrous FeO(OH) on surface oxide. The Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) area obtained nanomaterial was 151.4 m2 g−1, total pore volumes pores 0.25 cm3 g−1 STP. material, designated nanoparticles (IONPs), serves adsorbent solid phase extraction (MSPE) isolation photosynthetic (chlorophyll a, lutein) extracts higher green plants (Mentha piperita L., Urtica dioica L.). Sorption chlorophyll onto confirmed using UV–vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared photoacoustic (FT-IR/PAS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Selective sorption requires minimum 3 g IONPs per 12 mg acetone solvent, dependent storage time 48 h. Chalcones are recognized for their diverse pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory and anti-melanogenic effects. However, studies on 2′-hydroxy-2-methoxychalcone derivatives remain limited. This study investigated the melanin synthesis-inhibitory effects of three derivatives: 2′-hydroxy-2,4-dimethoxychalcone (2,4-DMC), 2′-hydroxy-2,5′-dimethoxychalcone (2,5′-DMC), 2′-hydroxy-2,6′-dimethoxychalcone (2,6′-DMC). In lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, 2,6′-DMC demonstrated a superior inhibition nitric oxide (NO) production, pro-inflammatory cytokines, expression inducible synthase (iNOS) cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) compared to other derivatives. A mechanistic analysis revealed that modulates NF-κB MAPK signaling pathways attenuate inflammation. Additionally, exhibited significant α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH)-induced synthesis in B16F10 melanoma cells by downregulating tyrosinase, TRP-1, TRP-2, MITF expression. regulation was achieved through suppression Wnt/β-catenin, PI3K/AKT, MAPK, PKA/CREB pathways. Nasturtium officinale R. Br. (watercress) is an endangered species with valuable pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and nutritional properties. The purpose of this work was to evaluate the phytochemical profile biological activity extracts from microshoot cultures grown in PlantForm bioreactors parent plant material.
