In recent decades, bee poisoning due to pesticides and agrochemicals has increased, posing significant challenges honey health contributing the so-called “Colony Collapse Disorder” (CCD). Poor knowledge about level of exposure colonies agrochemicals, whether from environment or beekeeping management practices, is a major limiting factor in preventing these diseases. Collaboration among different stakeholders, such as associations, local veterinary authorities, researchers, essential create monitoring programs that can collect data enable prompt implementation surveillance preventive actions address potential colony incidents caused by contaminants. The present study describes results obtained through collaborative initiative was implemented for pesticide-induced poisonings territory northern Italy where types may occur. Four sentinel apiaries were selected based on possible sources pollution throughout territory. Pollen samples collected at times during years 2021–2022 analyzed using gas liquid chromatography tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS LC-MS/MS) techniques. findings showed presence number pesticides, pyrethroids, permethrin, cypermethrin, amitraz, pendimethalin, varying concentrations. Acute mortality observed field case related pyrethroid 2022, an urban area. These confirm need timely interventions, improved sampling methods, continuous safeguard populations. with beekeepers public authorities thus addressing pesticide use challenges, fostering efficient communication training efforts support sustainable beekeeping.

The lesser mealworm, Alphitobius diaperinus, is a widespread pest in poultry farming, causing economic losses and facilitating the spread of pathogens. Current control methods rely heavily on synthetic insecticides, which raise environmental concerns contribute to resistance. This study investigated insecticidal potential Moringa oleifera seed preparations, including an aqueous extract (AE), protein-enriched fraction (PF), isolated lectin (WSMoL), against A. diaperinus. Contact assays demonstrated that AE PF reduced adult survival by up 90% 100%, respectively, while WSMoL was effective only larvae, 48% mortality. Ingestion showed 60% 30%, respectively; impaired diet utilization; caused significant weight loss. exhibited antinutritional effects, 94% reduction trypsin-like activity, but did not cause lethality, although it may impair long-term survival. Midgut histological analysis revealed epithelial disorganization, vacuolization, nuclear condensation treated insects. These findings suggest M. preparations are promising candidates for sustainable control, offering both lethal sublethal effects Future research should focus development formulations impact assessments populations non-target organisms, paving way eco-friendly alternatives integrated management.

Long-term exposure to low concentrations of toxic substances can cause several adverse consequences ranging from molecular morphological. Sublethal doses may also lead increased tolerance in the offspring surviving individuals. One such stress is deviations ideal body symmetry during development, reflected by levels fluctuating asymmetry (FA). This research aimed verify FA wing veins insects belonging Drosophilidae family—Drosophila suzukii, a fruit pest controlled insecticide acetamiprid, neonicotinoid. To determine whether varied depending on insecticides present diet, multigenerational cultures D. suzukii were carried out media supplemented with different (below LC50) two insecticides. Nicotine was used as positive control. Fecundity decreased, number and breeding did not continue beyond tenth generation. However, level at similar, high values observed even lower acetamiprid concentrations. We see significant changes subsequent generations. proved extremely sensitive good index this sensitivity.
