The plant pathogenic fungus Botrytis cinerea causes significant losses in agricultural production and it is rather difficult to control due its broad host range environmental persistence. management of gray mold disease still mainly based on the use chemicals, which could have harmful effects not only impacts environment human health, but also because they favor development fungicide-resistant strains. In this scenario, strategy RNA interference (RNAi) being widely considered, Spray-Induced Gene Silencing (SIGS) gaining interest as a versatile, sustainable, effective, environmentally friendly alternative chemicals protection crops. SIGS approach was evaluated B. infection lettuce plants. vitro-synthesized dsRNA molecules (BcBmp1-, BcBmp3-, BcPls1-dsRNAs) were used naked, or complexed small layered double hydroxide (sLDH) clay nanosheets. Therefore, treatments applied by pressure spraying whole plants lately inoculated with cinerea. Alternative splicing plays a crucial role in enhancing the protein diversity of eukaryotic genomes. However, alternative has not been extensively studied Botrytis cinerea. In this study, we examined distribution and regulation filamentous plant pathogenic fungus B. cinerea through strand-specific RNA sequencing at various stages infection Solanum lycopersicum. Introduction The basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins are a large family of transcription factors that essential to physiology, metabolism, and development. However, the available information is limited about bHLH gene in Chimonobambusa utilis , which widely cultivated China because its high-quality economic value. C. cultivars exhibit five natural color variations their shoot sheaths, but molecular mechanism behind this diversity remains unclear. Methods De novo assembly was employed obtain sequences. To identify pathways related formation, GO enrichment analysis performed on 44,255 functionally annotated unigenes. Results transcriptomic yielded total 195,977 transcripts 75,137 unigenes after removing redundancy. results revealed four were most strongly associated with formation. Phylogenetic, conserved motif, protein–protein interaction analyses, along qRT–PCR validation, confirmed CubHLH17 's role red sheath color. Discussion This research not only deepens insights into functional roles CubHLH genes also lays foundation for genetic improvement bamboo species. We suggest these findings will contribute both scientific commercial cultivation through editing technology future.

Mycoviruses are highly genetically diverse, can significantly change their fungal host’s phenotype, yet, they generally under-described in genotypic and biological studies. We propose Botrytis cinerea as a model mycovirus system which to develop deeper understanding of epidemiology including diversity, impact, the associated cellular biology host virus interaction. Over 100 mycoviruses have been described this host. B. is an ideal fungus for mycovirology it has tractable characteristics – easy culture, worldwide distribution, infects wide range plants, be transformed gene-edited, existing depth resources annotated genomes, transcriptomes, isolates with gene knockouts. Focus on will enable research community address deep questions that cannot answered non-systematic manner. Since major plant pathogen, new insights may immediate utility well creating knowledge complements extends interactions other fungi, alone or respective hosts.
