Climate
change
poses
significant
threats
to
agriculture
globally,
particularly
in
arid
and
semi-arid
regions
where
drought
stress
(DS)
is
most
severe,
disrupting
ecosystems
constraining
progress
horticulture.
Roses,
valued
for
their
aesthetic
appeal,
are
highly
susceptible
abiotic
stresses,
especially
DS,
which
markedly
reduces
flower
quantity
quality.
Under
DS
conditions,
roses
exhibit
diverse
morphological,
physiological,
biochemical,
molecular
adaptations
that
vary
across
species.
This
review
examines
the
effects
of
on
rose
growth,
yield,
physiological
traits,
including
gas
exchange,
photosynthesis,
phytohormone
dynamics,
water
nutrient
relationships,
alongside
biochemical
responses.
Furthermore,
impacts
biosynthesis
secondary
metabolites,
notably
reducing
yield
quality
essential
oils
roses,
critical
commercial
value
perfumery
aromatherapy.
Additionally,
impact
post-harvest
longevity
assessed.
By
elucidating
these
responses,
this
provides
a
framework
understanding
offers
insights
develop
strategies
mitigating
its
adverse
impacts.
