The effect of lighting basil with LED DR/B LB (Light Emitting Diode deep red/blue low blue) lamps throughout the cultivation cycle or for only 7 days before harvest, after period using HPS (High Pressure Sodium) lamps, was studied in comparison use only, at same light intensity. Plants two Genovese type cultivars, recommended pot and hydroponic cultivation, were used experiment. Plant growth observations made herb leaf yields, dry matter, nitrates, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, total sugars, soluble solids, ascorbic acid, chlorophylls, carotenoids determined. both tested cultivars grown under characterized by a higher content carotenoids, sugars lower nitrates than those lights. In plants nitrate on average 31% lamps. LEDs last resulted significant reduction one cultivars. Further research sweet yield quality, depending other factors, genetic environmental, is recommended.
