This systematic literature review investigates the recent applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in supply chain management (SCM), particularly domains resilience, process optimization, sustainability, and implementation challenges. The study is motivated by gaps identified previous reviews, which often exclude published after 2020 lack an integrated analysis AI’s contributions across multiple phases. aims to provide updated synthesis AI technologies—such as machine learning, deep generative AI—and their practical between 2021 2024. Following PRISMA framework, a rigorous methodology was applied using Scopus database, complemented bibliometric content analyses. A total 66 studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria evaluated for methodological quality thematic relevance. findings reveal diverse classification strategic operational SCM phases highlight emerging techniques like explainable AI, neurosymbolic systems, federated learning. also identifies persistent barriers such data governance, ethical concerns, scalability. Future research should focus hybrid AI–human collaboration, transparency through models, integration with technologies IoT blockchain. contributes offering structured transformative impact outlining key directions guide future investigations managerial practice.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the retail sector is steadily increasing. This study aims to reveal usage AI retailing over years.
