Abstract An acylated flavonol glycoside, trans -tiliroside ( 1 ), is found in certain parts of different herbs, including the seeds Rosa canina (Rosaceae) . Previous studies on compound have focused triglyceride (TG) metabolism, its anti-obesity and intracellular TG reduction effects. In present study, effects cholesterol (CHO) metabolism were investigated using human hepatocellular carcinoma-derived HepG2 cells mice. Compound decreased CHO secretion cells, which was enhanced by mevalonate a concentration-dependent manner apoprotein B (apoB)-100, marker very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). also inhibited activity microsomal transfer proteins, mediate VLDL formation from triglycerides liver. vivo, accumulation Triton WR-1339-induced blood fasted mice maintained low levels apoB-100. These results suggest that inhibits as liver has potential for use prevention dyslipidemia. Graphical abstract

In recent years, special attention has been paid to the correlation between oxidation–reduction mechanisms and human health. The free radicals produced via physiological cellular biochemical processes are major contributors oxidation phenomena. Their instability is cause of damage. Free radical reactive oxygen species containing best-known ones. body neutralises harmful effects production endogenous antioxidants (superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione, melatonin). field study nutraucetics found antioxidant capacity in substances such as vitamins A, B, C, E, coenzyme Q-10, selenium, flavonoids, lipoic acid, carotenoids, lycopene contained some foods. There several areas investigation that aim research interaction species, exogenous antioxidants, microbiota promote increased protection peroxidation macromolecules (proteins, lipids) by maintaining a dynamic balance among make up microbiota. this scoping review, we map scientific literature on oxidative stress related oral microbiota, use natural counteract it, assess volume, nature, characteristics, type studies available date, suggest possible gaps will emerge from analysis.

Introduction Diabetes is a major health issue that has reached alarming levels worldwide. Although their effectiveness, the antidiabetic drugs have many side effects such as cardiovascular diseases, kidney failure, and hepatic complications. Many plant species of genus Salvia L. “Arabian desert sage” ( deserti ) should began to be focus phytochemical bioactivity studies. Methods The study aims investigate, first-ever, antihyperlipidemic leaf hydroethanolic extract S. deserti, an endemic rare subshrub from Arabian desert. A single intraperitoneal injection alloxan monohydrate (160 mg/kg) was used induce type-2 diabetes. Development diabetes confirmed by measuring blood glucose collected tail vein after 72 h injection. Oral administration extracts at 200 400 mg/kg for 14 days were tested on alloxan-induced diabetic mice animals divided into 6 groups each. identity phenolic compounds S . conducted through HPLC-Electrospray Ionization-Mass Spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS) analyses. Results significantly decreased restored renal function reducing ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, LDH, urea creatinine. An improved lipid profile revealed reduced TC, TG LDL coupled with increased level HDL also observed. Moreover, treatment relieved oxidative stress (reduction MDA H 2 O activity antioxidant enzymes SOD, CAT GPx. presence several (derivatives ferulic, coumaric, caffeic acids, among other derivatives) could least in part explain obtained data empower use source bioactive ingredients antioxidant, properties. Discussion Our research unveiled potential effectively manage its associated dyslipidemia improving status, recovery liver functions presumably increasing insulin secretion sensitivity peripheral tissues insulin.

Amorphophallus konjac is a perennial plant native to Southeast Asia, renowned for its edible corms and rich nutritional value. The bioactive component, glucomannan (KGM), has garnered significant attention due broad applications. This review aims provide comprehensive overview of the traditional uses, chemical physical properties, modern health applications KGM. It highlights cutting-edge research, discusses challenges limitations, identifies future directions advancing utility KGM in nutrition. demonstrates remarkable benefits, including improving metabolic through weight management, blood glucose stabilization, lipid profile enhancement. also plays vital role gut health. Emerging evidence anti-inflammatory immune-regulatory effects, with managing inflammatory bowel disease, hyperthyroidism, colorectal cancer (CRC). Recent advancements multi-omics analyses high-throughput screening (HTS) approaches have improved extraction, characterization, evaluation. However, potential side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort allergenicity, along maintaining purity molecular consistency, require careful consideration. versatile dietary fiber extensive functional foods, nutraceuticals, therapeutic interventions. Future research should focus on enhancing KGM's bioavailability, developing targeted delivery systems, formulating novel

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is known as a major public health problem with noticeable adverse impact on quality of life and expenditures worldwide. Despite using routine multiple pharmacological nonpharmacological interventions, including diet therapy increasing physical activity, controlling this chronic disease remains challenging issue, therapeutic goals are often not achieved. Therefore, recently, other procedures, such herbal products functional foods complementary or alternative medicine (CAM), have received great attention new approach to managing T2D complications, according the literature. We reviewed existing evidence that supports various fundamental medicinal herbs, cinnamon, saffron, ginger, jujube, turmeric, barberry, CAM adjunctive strategies for patients. The current review addressed different aspects potential abovementioned in improving glycemic indices lipid profiles, effect size reported studies, their effective dose, possible side effects, herbs‐drug interactions, action mechanisms.

Familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) is a rare genetic disorder with heterogeneous presentation, where acute encephalopathy rarely described in literature. Therefore, initial neurologic symptoms could make the diagnosis and treatment challenging. A four-month-old male infant presented encephalopathy, vomiting, bulging fontanel, decreased appetite failure to thrive. He had extremely lipemic serum anemia. Intracranial computed tomography (CT) revealed lipid collection which was suspected be epidermoid cyst, also deposits extra-axial intravascular location. This initially as ruptured intracranial cyst dissemination of content, including dissemination. Together clinical signs raised pressure it discussed whether should surgically removed. Since blood sample appearence milky child rather stable, surgery wasn't performed exchange transfusion (ET) started immediately. Only after ET possible obtain laboratory results status (triglycerides were 106.8 mmol/l). At that point we underlining cause disease. Three cycles plasmapheresis followed ET, resolved almost completely, despite remaining on brain CT scan ultrasound, some regression. After these repeated imaging studies, concluded 'cyst' actually largest collection. The definitive confirmed FCS. short course insulin, antioxidants fibrates given, but discontinued confirmation due lack supporting data Effective only maintenance diet consisting formula low fat high medium-chain triglycerides. On discharge infant's neurological status, except mild hypotonia, normal, he thriving well, good no case FCS presenting mimicked picture differential this case. Initial interpretation studies didn't delay treatment. With right treatment, disease reversible satisfactory outcome.
