Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is a major contributor to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and associated with various metabolic disorders. Vitamin D deficiency (VDD) has been linked an increased risk of T2DM, but the relationship between vitamin status IR in T2DM patients remains unclear. This study explores this association male population Baghdad, Iraq. Methods: A case-control was conducted on 190 participants: 40 healthy controls 150 categorized into different groups; diabetic patients, 55 coronary artery disease (CAD) (CAD+DM), only CAD. Physicians diagnosed them, they were evaluated by physical full medical history. All sample set parameters measured fasting state for each group. The biochemical tests included body mass index (BMI), levels, insulin glucose (FBG), HbA1c measured. calculated using HOMA-IR model. Results: levels significantly lower all groups (DM, CAD+DM) compared control group (p<0.001). had resistance. BMI higher CAD CAD+DM (p<0.00001, p<0.004). FBG, HbA1c, (p<0.001 all). Furthermore, insulin, homeostatic model assessment (HOMA-IR) progression (p < 0.001).Conclusion: suggests that may contribute Iraq. Maintaining optimal be beneficial management population. Incorporating screening routine check-ups could aid early detection prevention resistance-associated complications. Keywords: Diabetes mellitus; resistance; D; Coronary

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition associated with multiple complications and comorbidities. Some of these comorbidities are anxiety depression, negative impact on the quality life, non-adherence to treatment, poor prognosis. The main aim this study was evaluate depression in group patients DM their life identify factors that improve prognosis increase expectancy DM. Methods: A total 209 type 2 (T2DM) were enrolled cross-sectionally. Patients screened for psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment, metabolic parameters. Results: Included had median age 66.0 (58; 70) years, duration 9 (6; 15) suboptimal glycemic control reflected by HbA1c 7.8 (7; 9.2) mg/dL. presented at different stages 51.5% cases, similarly, 37.5% cases. Age, DM, HbA1c, postprandial hyperglycemia (PPG) predictive T2DM. An > 57 years (sensitivity 84.3, specificity 33.7, AUROC 0.621, p = 0.002) an 8.5% 45.8, 83.1, 0.635, < 0.0001) predict higher rate anxiety, respectively, patients. Conclusions: T2DM have increased due persistent aging, which expressed lower life.

Objectives: To evaluate the quality of life (QoL) in a group patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and to identify predictive factors apply necessary measures improve it. Methods: For this, 299 T2DM were enrolled cross-sectional study, their QoL was assessed using EQ-5D-3L questionnaire. All underwent clinical exams, routine laboratory tests, nerve conduction velocity (NCV) at common peroneal nerve. Results: Patients had median age 66 (57; 70) years, duration 10 (6; 15) HbA1c 8 (7; 9.3)%, mean score 55%. In addition, 9.7% presented extreme difficulty mobility, 18.5% severe self-care, 16.4% usual activities. One-third pain or discomfort, anxiety, depression (level 3 EQ-5D-3L). DPN, heart failure (HF), cerebral stroke, insulin therapy increased likelihood reduced (EQ-5D-3L < 50). The inversely correlated serum creatinine, glycemic control, lipid profile, duration, age, pain/discomfort, activities, anxiety/depression positively NCV, HDLc, eGFR. Conclusions: Preventing neuropathic complications, chronic kidney disease, HF obtaining targets could T2DM.

Suboptimal vitamin D status is commonly observed in primary hyperparathyroidism but rarely considered management decisions. The present study aimed to bring additional insights on patients, particularly those presenting with the normocalcemic phenotype. A retrospective was conducted 53 confirmed stratified into hypercalcemic and groups, hospitalized at “Pius Brînzeu” Emergency Clinical Country Hospital Timișoara, Romania. Patients phenotype had similar target-organ involvement compared their counterparts. In this subgroup, 25 hydroxyvitamin showed an inverse correlation serum calcium (p = 0.048), regression analysis identified iPTH 25OH as significant predictors of levels < 0.0001; R2 0.571). Adenoma volume a negative 0.021; r −0.61) later found insignificant after confounder analysis. Postoperative measurements increasing parathyroidectomy. Our findings highlight complex relationship between PTH hyperparathyroidism, especially often-underdiagnosed suggests altered homeostasis, rather than true deficiency.

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a prevalent chronic disease with high morbidity and mortality, characterized by inadequate cellular response to insulin insufficient production pancreatic β-cells. Epidemiological studies indicate that low serum vitamin D levels are among the general population globally, exacerbating outcomes of many diseases. Recent suggest deficiency may impact type prognosis. Understanding risk factors progression variables crucial for proper patient management public health policies. Purpose work: This study aims review relationship between prognosis mellitus. Materials methods: A comprehensive analysis research papers available on PubMed, Google Scholar, Web Science, Embase Scopus was undertaken using search terms encompassing following keywords: insufficiency / supplementation D2 D3 ergocalciferol cholecalciferol complications hyperglycemia resistance glucose metabolism. Results: Vitamin can mellitus, associated such as obesity, mental issues, vascular complications, diabetic neuropathy. Given its prevalence patients, early screening could offer potential benefits.
