Objective: This study investigates the relationship between lower limb strength and postural stability in single-leg stance using Balance Master system. Methods: The research involved 64 participants divided into sedentary physically active groups based on metabolic equivalents of task (METs) values, normal weight, overweight, obese according to body composition. Postural control was evaluated Sensory Organization Test. Results: results showed that there were no significant differences mean maximum groups. Furthermore, open closed eyes conditions did not show However, a positive correlation observed with open. Conclusions: These findings suggest muscle is essential for stability, especially when vision available aid balance. highlights importance interventions focused strengthening muscles improve physical functionality adults.

Objective: To assess postural stability, specifically center of body sway during single-leg standing balance, among individuals with and without forward head posture (FHP) smartphone use. Methods: The research recruited 53 healthy users, aged 18–25, categorized them into FHP group comprising 26 subjects the normal (control) 27 subjects. Participants were assigned task maintaining balance while engaged in typing standing. experiment involved four specific conditions according to neck stable surface. study meticulously quantified pressure (COP) amplitudes using Nintendo Wii Balance Board. Results: revealed that exhibited significantly greater compared control when smartphones. Notably, distinct variations observed path length sway, anteroposterior (AP), mediolateral (ML) amplitude, particularly evident flexed positions on a soft surface Conclusion: These findings strongly suggest encounter deteriorated stability use, challenging positions.

The senior population is at increased risk of falling due to a reduction in ankle muscle strength. Evaluating the strength muscles older adults paramount importance. purpose this study was formulate an equation estimate by utilizing basic physical characteristics subject and variables related their ability perform standing heel-rise test (SHRT). One hundred thirty-two healthy elderly participants (mean age 67.30 ± 7.60) completed SHRT provided demographic information. Ankle plantar flexor (PF) evaluated using push–pull dynamometer. Multiple regression analysis utilized develop prediction for PF revealed that derived from including power index SHRT, gender, age, calf circumference, single-leg balance test. exhibited strong correlation (r = 0.816) had predictive 65.3%. represented as follows: 24.31 − 0.20(A) + 8.14(G) 0.49(CC) 0.07(SSEO) 0.20(BW/t-SHRT). estimation error 5.51 kg. PFs individuals can be estimated considering variables, test, SHRT. These factors were identified significant determinants population.

Abstract Gait Speed Reserve (GSR) expresses a difference between fast and comfortable gait speed may have an impact on everyday functioning. It was also hypothesized as useful proxy measure of physiological reserve. However, height-normalizing values GSR its associated factors not been evaluated in general population older adults. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the distribution height-normalized (HN-GSR) elderly population-based cohort from urban rural areas ( n = 4342) aged 60–93 years evaluate lifestyle factors. Using linear mixed models, identified gender nine modifiable significantly with HN-GSR across four age groups. Better handgrip strength, cognition standing balance, higher physical activity level, larger calf circumference, less smoking had positive associations HN-GSR, while female gender, more leg pain, weight and, alcohol consumption opposite effects. The Marginal R2 imply that this model explained 26% variance HN-GSR. Physical strength varied groups differences were however comparatively minor. In large study adults, proposed for first time represented multi-domain features are line previous findings reported GSR. Measuring HN-GSR/GSR help clinicians identify early impairments or unhealthy habits, especially among women, safety implications daily life. Further work is needed find out if measuring be identifying adverse health outcomes overall

Background:The purpose of the study was to compare effects core stabilization exercise (CSE) and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) on muscle activation, endurance, proprioception, balance in 80 obese children. Material/Methods:In this single-blind, randomized controlled study, children aged 10-13 years were randomly divided into 3 groups. The first group received CSE (n=27) second PNF exercises days a week for 8 weeks. The third group, which control (n=26), no treatment.Participants evaluated before treatment (BT) after (AT) at follow-up (3 months treatment).Core activation level by Sahrmann Core Stability test (SCST), lumbar endurance McGill tests, joint position sense (JPS) laser cursor. The single-leg standing (SLSBT) Y (YBT) used static dynamic balance, respectively. Results:AT follow-up, JPS, significantly different between groups (P<0.05).There significant difference YBT dominant nondominant side mixed reach distances (P>0.05).Clinical effect sizes higher all outcome measures. Conclusions:CSE improve children. However, results show that are more clinically effective children. The decline medium term.
