Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) remains a challenging endemic pathogen of cattle in many parts the globe. Spatial clustering Mycoacterium bovis molecular types suggests that local factors are primary drivers spread. Northern Ireland’s agricultural landscape is comprised highly fragmented farms, distributed across spatially discontinuous land parcels, and these farming structures thought to facilitate localised We conducted matched case control study quantify risks bTB breakdown with farm area, fragmentation, fragment dispersal, contact neighbouring herds. Whilst our results show small but significant increases risk associated each herds, relationships were strongly confounded number contiguous neighbours bTB. Our key finding was every infected neighbour led an increase odds by 40% 50%, farms almost twice as likely have positive compared non-fragmented farms. suggest after controlling for herd size, type, spatial temporal factors, fragmentation increasingly exposes herds infection originating from first order neighbours. Given NI’s particularly landscape, reliance on short-term leases, data supports hypothesis between-herd spread important component disease system.

The practice of land value capture (LVC) from collectively owned rural is undergoing changes in marketisation as local governments are constrained their power to expropriate land. Previous studies have either overestimated short-term LVC losses or exaggerated long-term urban increases, while generally neglecting changes. Here, we present an analytical framework via the prism policy instruments make sense evolving LVC. Our empirical evidence China considers disparities and outcomes across scales governance between inland–coastal urban–rural settings, based on 145 semi-structured interviews 430 transaction cases. We offer insight into discussions concerning stakeholder relationships This article was published open access under a CC BY licence: https://creativecommons.org/licences/by/4.0 .

The paper explores the almost "unknown territory" of economic evaluation pre-emption rights (PRs) in agriculture, by focusing on two PRs held tenant farmers Italy: purchasing rented land and contract renewal. For both PRs, main characteristics an historical framework are provided. research has three goals: PR values estimations, exploring factors that affect tenant's choice rating values. Lacking a specific theory value ad hoc conceptual been developed referring mainly to farm evaluation, which proved helpful discussing findings. Research goals achieved employing contingent valuation, logistic regression linear methods. Data collection refer on-farm survey covering 55 tenants, provided database 230 lease contracts.Among analysis findings, worthiest note are: a) farmer's neighbouring for sale is more appreciated than sale; b) favour growth size not only securing plots with labour intensive crops but also guaranteeing adequate economies scale; c) percentage area total factor induces tenants evaluate under contract; d) mostly increases relation dimension machinery fleet, presence interest land, while investments made it positively
