One of the key conditions for achieving superior regional growth is ensuring harmonious development both layout and functions territorial space. Territorial space, which includes production living ecological serves as a critical system venue economic, cultural, social activities in region. The harmonized production–living–ecological space (PLES) essential attaining sustainable goals. Research on PLES offers fresh perspective promoting spatial domain use resources. However, studies PLE ecologically fragile areas are lacking. Therefore, this study, adopts perspective, land-use data used to classify land according dominant production, ecology, living. Integration point-of-interest (POI) with socio-economic was established spatially describe indicators at grid level create scoring areas. Finally, entropy weight method, holistic assessment methods, coupling coordination degree model (CCDM), geodetector were employed explore relationships factors influencing PLESs Turpan–Hami Basin from 2010 2020. results indicate that consists predominantly potential mainly central northern regions, characterized by Gobi Desert bare rock landforms. Over past decade, framework has seen notable rise allocation residential areas, whereas portion dedicated spaces diminished. overall (CCD) coordinated gradually increasing. most significant impact exerted population natural factors. research findings provide theoretical support utilization resources other while also offering scientific evidence promote PLES, thereby contributing high-quality development.

In recent years, the accelerated urbanization process in China has led to increased land resource constraints and unregulated expansion, imposing significant pressure on ecosystems environment. As a critical node along Silk Road Economic Belt, Turpan–Hami region experienced rapid urban development under policy support but faces challenges utilization efficiency sustainable development. To address these challenges, this study innovatively combines nighttime light remote sensing data quantify economic intensity integrates socioeconomic natural environment indicators based previous research. Four tree-based ensemble learning models—Random Forest (RF), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Light Machine (LightGBM), Categorical (CatBoost)—were employed predict potential suitability zones their intensity. The results show that CatBoost model performed best prediction, revealing spatial disparities: high-suitability areas are concentrated regions with superior conditions well-developed infrastructure, whereas terrain inadequate infrastructure exhibit lower suitability. An analysis of changes over historical periods (2010, 2015, 2020) demonstrates gradual expansion time.

The northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains city cluster (NSTM), as a key urban agglomeration for development western China, has experienced rapid regional economic and high population concentration since twenty-first century. Accompanied by increase in human activities NSTM, it significantly altered land use structure, leading to varying levels habitat disturbance degradation. In this paper, based on cover (LULC) NSTM from 2000 2020. InVEST model was employed assess quality, revealing notable spatial temporal variations. A geoprobe further explore drivers spatially distributed pattern quality research region. results show that (1) 2020, largely characterized grassland, unused land, cropland terms use, with expansion construction land; (2) overall study area is poor, clear distribution south low north, predominance grades, trend decreasing then increasing shown direction; (3) under influence urbanization region, degradation degree shows distinct radial middle at edges, “increase-decrease-increase” over time; (4) geodetector altitude type have greatest indicating region primarily influenced use.

Land resources are fundamental to regional economic development and ecological protection. As a critical tool for the scientific allocation of land resources, suitability evaluation plays pivotal role in achieving sustainable goals. This study integrates MaxEnt model with planning conduct multi-period construction Turpan–Hami region, aiming elucidate distribution patterns their driving mechanisms across different historical periods. By synthesizing natural geographic socioeconomic data, comprehensive framework was developed, enabling multi-temporal analysis from 2000 2023. The results revealed clear trend optimization within characterized by continuous expansion highly suitable areas significant reduction unsuitable areas, becoming increasingly balanced over time. population density, GDP, road density were identified as primary drivers distribution, exerting most substantial influence. Among environmental factors, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) imposed constraints on suitability, particularly ecologically sensitive areas. innovatively applied integrating it comprehensively assess spatial dynamic changes region. Furthermore, this research aligns closely policy frameworks, fully considering impacts agricultural protection policies explores optimized use strategies under guidance. findings provide robust foundation efficient enhancement

With the increase in regional economic development disparities, a coordinated strategy is put forward that prioritizes human welfare and holistic social progress over purely materialistic growth model. To address challenges of balanced development, this paper has developed multidimensional assessment framework encompassing education, healthcare, culture, security. Using entropy weight TOPSIS method, study measures level across 296 Chinese prefecture-level cities from 1990 to 2020. It explores spatio-temporal evolution characteristics China’s through Dagum Gini coefficient decomposition method exploratory spatial data analysis. The results indicate (1) China exhibits fluctuating upward trend time series, showing phase-wise pattern decline–rise–rise; (2) there clear heterogeneity with general hierarchy Eastern, Northeastern, Western, Central regions terms development; (3) spatially, evolved patchy distribution clustered around urban agglomerations by 2020, pronounced imbalance; (4) displays varying degrees clustering, intensifying time; (5) period 1990–2020, overall disparity presents trend, notable reduction after an initial increase, disparities following order Central, Northeastern regions. This research offers valuable insights for policymakers scholars seeking understand enhance landscape.
