Wood-based panels (WBPs) have versatile structural applications and are a suitable alternative to plastic metallic materials. They appropriate strength parameters that provide the required stiffness for furniture products construction applications. WBPs usually processed by cutting, milling drilling. Especially in industry, accuracy of processing is crucial aesthetic reasons. Ensuring WBP surface’s high quality production cycle associated with selection tools adapted specificity material (properties wood, glue, type resin possible contamination). Abstract Reducing the use of petroleum-based oil lubricants in metal forming processes is a major task modern sustainable industry. In order to meet expectations industry, this article presents friction results DC04 sheets pair with 145Cr6 tool steel tested corn, sunflower, rapeseed, cottonseed and soybean vegetable oils. The process variables were also contact pressure surface roughness countersamples. assessment lubricant efficiency was based on coefficient value. Complex phenomena zone make interpretation difficult. Therefore, feed-forward neural networks used analyse relationship between input parameters friction. Abstract Manufacturing operations produce surface characteristics that, although stochastic, can significantly affect functionality, especially in forming tools, impacting contact and lubrication conditions during operation. This study investigates the influence of stochastic microtextures resulting from milling on tribological performance cold work tool steels with two different carbon contents (0.8 2 wt%). Different textures were observed C contents, 3D roughness parameters indicating rougher surfaces for 2.0% wt. steel. Tribological behavior was assessed using strip drawing test to analyze friction, wear coefficients, mechanisms. Surface analysis before after testing executed employing SEM, EDX, CLSM, CLSM also used determine worn tracks. Post-test macrographic analyses 2D measurements conducted pulled sheets. data revealed lower friction coefficients 2.0 wt% steel, susceptibility abrasion wear, while 0.8 exhibited a higher tendency towards adhesion wear. suggested smoother steel compared Macrographic showed no visible marks sheets tested contrasting grooves against Additionally, indicated pulling tool. Overall, demonstrates that manufacturing-induced without need post-manufacturing texturing evaluated steels, opening an avenue be explored improve tools.

The aim of this article is to provide an analysis the influence type hard anti-wear coatings on friction behaviour DC01 deep-drawing steel sheets. sheets exhibit high formability, and they are widely used in sheet metal forming operations. tribological properties tool surface, especially coating used, determine conditions forming. In order carry out research, study developed manufactured a special bending-under-tension (BUT) tribometer that models phenomenon rounded edges tools process. rationale for building tribotester was there no commercial tribotesters available can be model processes. deformation coefficient (CoF) change topography surface were analysed. Countersamples with surfaces prepared using titanium + nitrogen ion implantation, implantation electron beam remelting tested. tests carried dry lubrication oils different kinematic viscosities. Under conditions, clear increase CoF value, elongation samples all analysed types countersamples, observed. lubricated uncoated countersample showed most favourable conditions. Furthermore, oil lower viscosity provided more reducing friction. Within entire range sample elongation, by S100+ oil. During process, average roughness decreased as result flattening phenomenon. value Sa parameter during BUT test 20.3-30.2%, depending countersample. As kurtosis skewness increased decreased, respectively, compared as-received metal.

This article presents the friction test results for cold-rolled low-carbon DC06 steel sheets, which are commonly processed into finished products using sheet metal forming methods. A strip drawing with flat dies was used in experimental tests. The strip-drawing is to model phenomena flange area of drawpiece. tests were carried out a tester that enabled lubrication pressurised lubricant. at different nominal pressures, oil and conditions (dry lubrication). Oils destined deep-drawing operations as lubricants. Neural networks radial base functions (RBFs) explore influence individual parameters on value coefficient (COF). Under both oils considered, COF increased decreasing pressure. confirms correctness concept device reducing developed most effective relatively small pressures 2–4 MPa. range corresponds actual nip when sheets. dry friction, values obtained rise above 0.3, while under conditions, even without pressure-assisted lubrication, does not exceed 0.2. As pressure increases, effectiveness exponentially decreases. It found Sq parameter carries information regarding COF.
