Introduction: Evaluation of post-nephrectomy social health in living kidney donors is essential. This systematic review examines their emotional need for relatedness post-donation. Methods: Following the PRISMA guidelines, we systematically searched Scopus, CINAHL, and PsycINFO. Results: Among screened records, 32 quantitative 16 qualitative papers met inclusion criteria. Quantitative research predominantly utilized questionnaires featuring generic items on functioning. However, a minority delved into dimensions, aligning with studies emphasizing importance connection perceived support Specifically, post-donation changes connecting others encompass sense belongingness, heightened autonomy, shifts concern recipient’s health, continued care by shielding recipient from personal issues. Social acknowledgment both close extended networks are reported as relevant recovery after nephrectomy. Discussion: These findings underscore necessity targeted measures needs functioning to effectively assess adjustment. They also inform identification key themes donor Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Experience (PREMs) questions.
