This study aims to assess the significance of monitoring temperature change trends at various wound sites in healing process diabetic foot ulcers after microcirculation reconstruction surgery. A retrospective analysis was conducted on individuals with who had been admitted Department Orthopedics Second Hospital Shanxi Medical University between July 2020 and February 2022. Temperature changes were regularly monitored center distal tibia ipsilateral lower leg microcirculatory blood perfusion. Wound, ischemia, infection (WIFi) grading performed admission final follow-up determine value sites. Additionally, formation collateral microarterial vessels their consistency observed differences. Follow-up assessments included recurrence ulcers, development different locations, re-amputation toe or limb, diabetes-related mortality. total 29 patients follow-up, an average age 57.14 ± 14.75 years a period 9.79 4.13 months. Following surgery, as microvascular network formed, difference same side gradually decreased, no statistical 4 weeks postoperatively. At both there significant reduction (W) ischemia (I) grades within WIFi classification. The showed progressive improvement developed. During period, 2 cases ulcer recurrence, 1 case appearing location, fatalities. BACKGROUND Serum retinol-binding protein (RBP) is the primary transport of circulating vitamin A. RBP has a crucial role in maintaining nutrient metabolism and physiologic homeostasis. Several studies have indicated that serum participates progression diabetes diabetes-related complications. However, impact on lower limb atherosclerosis not been determined individuals with type 2 mellitus (T2DM). AIM To determine association between T2DM. METHODS This retrospective study enrolled 4428 eligible T2DM patients divided into non-lower (n = 1913) groups 2515) based arterial ultrasonography results. At hospital admission, baseline levels were assessed, all subjects categorized three (Q1-Q3) tertiles. Logistic regression, restricted cubic spline subgroup analysis, machine learning used to assess risk. RESULTS Among T2DM, 2515 (56.80%) had atherosclerosis. analysis showed risk increased by 1% for every 1 unit rise level (odds ratio 1.01, 95% confidence interval: 1.00-1.02, P 0.004). Patients highest tertile group (Q3) higher compared lowest (Q1) 1.36, 1.12-1.67, 0.002). The gradually an increase (P trend 0.005). Restricted linear correlation (non-linear < 0.05). Machine demonstrated significance diagnostic value predicting CONCLUSION Elevated correlate

Highlights•NIR-II imaging is a new and noninvasive technique to visualize lower limb perfusion.•NIR-II can detect early changes in perfusion T2D patients.•NIR-II the dorsal microvessel venous real time.•Among clinical characteristics, age sex were independent predictors of arterial plaques.•Based on NIR-II imaging, prevention be carried out individuals at high risk for PAD.Graphical abstractAbstractAimsThe formation plaques, exacerbated by type 2 diabetes (T2D), represents an stage peripheral artery disease (PAD). Second near-infrared region (NIR-II) emerging with sensitivity detecting levels. This study explores value identifying due extremity plaques patients without PAD.MethodsNIR-II indocyanine green (ICG) was conducted 120 patients, who categorized into two groups: plaque non-plaque. parameters characteristics analyzed between groups identify significant plaques.ResultsSix (T start, T 1/2, Tmax, Ingress rate, Egress, Egress rate) showed differences diagnostic efficacy groups. Three (age sex) identified as plaques. The nomogram that combined model exhibited higher efficacy.ConclusionNIR-II effectively showing great potential pre-diagnosis PAD.

Diabetic foot disease is a severe complication of diabetes, leading to significant morbidity and lower limb amputations. This review explores the pathophysiology diabetic disease, highlighting roles peripheral neuropathy, arterial immunosuppression in development ulcers infections. Key intrinsic extrinsic risk factors, including long-standing poor glycaemic control, inappropriate footwear trauma are discussed. The importance comprehensive assessments using diagnostic tools such as Ipswich Touch Test Doppler studies emphasised for early detection management. Challenges delays referral specialist care, limited access multidisciplinary teams, staffing shortages identified critical barriers effective care. builds upon extant literature by integrating most recent evidence, 2023 guidelines from International Working Group on Foot. It emphasises practical application, detailed pathways care strategies, offering updated insights improve clinical outcomes address often overlooked aspects within inpatient services. Future directions encompass advances imaging, telemedicine patient education, which may further optimise preventive therapeutic strategies disease.
