Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects Pelargonium sidoides extract on penicillin-induced epileptic activity. Epilepsy a neurological disorder characterized by seizures due abnormal electrical activity in brain. P. medicinal plant known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it candidate research into natural therapeutic alternatives. This seeks evaluate potential epileptiform activity, contributing exploration effective options epilepsy treatment. represents first investigation relationship between Methods: A total 18 female Wistar albino rats, aged 16-20 weeks weighing 220-350 g, were randomly divided three groups: Control group (n=6) received intracortical penicillin-G, Vehicle penicillin with physiological saline, Experimental penicillin-G combined extract. rats treated daily 10 days saline at dosage 60 mg/kg via gavage. Last day experiment neuromuscular blockade was induced urethane, electrophysiological recordings obtained from cortex. Results: Statistical analysis performed using SPSS 15.0, normality datas confirmed all groups Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. No statistically significant differences found average peak frequency or amplitude (p>0.05). 59±1.5 spikes/min, while group, 56.3±4.3 spikes/min. Conclusion: Although may suggest influence results indicate that does not provide protection under tested conditions. Further necessary explore treatment epilepsy.
