The search for alternatives to petrochemical plastics has intensified, with increasing attention being directed toward bio-based polymers (bioplastics), which are considered healthier and more environmentally friendly options. In this review, a comprehensive overview of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) is provided, including their characterization, applications, the mechanisms underlying biosynthesis. PHAs natural polyesters produced by wide range prokaryotic some eukaryotic organisms, positioning them as significant widely studied type bioplastic. Various strategies production from agroindustrial waste, such cacao shells, cheese whey, wine, wood, beet molasses, reviewed, emphasizing potential sustainable feedstocks. Industrial processes PHAs, complexities associated extraction purification, also examined. Although use waste materials offers promise in reducing costs environmental impact, challenges remain optimizing these enhance efficiency cost-effectiveness. need continued research development improve sustainability economic viability PHA emphasized, viable eco-friendly alternative conventional petroleum-based plastics.

One of the most noticeable problems associated with close location piggeries is gaseous compounds emission. Ammonia and hydrogen sulfide emissions affect quality life people living in vicinity such facilities. Among diverse methods for managing controlling malodorous substances, biological methods, which involve utilization microbiological agents, are widely employed. The use bacterial strains a relatively simple, low-cost, ecological method. study aimed to conduct preliminary evaluation implementation novel consortium deodorizing bacteria. involved selection bacteria, assessment antagonistic properties, inoculum mesh-filled biofilter, analysis ammonia, sulfide, fine dust content air before after passing through mature bed. results obtained demonstrate effectiveness biofiltration bed reducing ammonia levels, maximum decrease observed at 73.90%. For removal efficiency >72.08% was observed. Reduction pollution also decreased from level 3.75 mg/m3 1.06 mg/m3. study’s findings promising potential utilizing bacteria as an effective approach mitigating piggeries.
