The proper functioning of the human body largely depends on microorganisms it hosts. ecosystem formed by these microorganisms, along with their genome, metabolites they produce, and conditions in environment, constitutes microbiome. microbiome plays a crucial role regulating host’s physiological, immunological, metabolic functions. Changes composition can affect occurrence progression both local oral cavity oropharynx, as well systemic diseases. Therefore, is essential to explore methods for modifying microbiome’s preventing negative consequences dysbiosis. Current research focuses probiotics, prebiotics, dietary supplements, antibiotics, chemotherapeutics. This review aims summarize knowledge regarding oropharyngeal microbiome, its significance health, potential therapeutic approaches influence this complex ecosystem.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of mortality and morbidity among noncommunicable diseases. Over past decade, there has been a notable increase in prevalence CVDs young individuals. Obesity, well-known risk factor for CVDs, is also associated with various comorbidities that may contribute to cardiovascular risk. The relationship between periodontal pathogens CVD factors, including obesity, smoking, lipid metabolism disorders, inflammatory markers, remains underexplored. This study examined six (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Treponema denticola, Tannerella forsythia, Prevotella intermedia, Fusobacterium nucleatum) factors 189 subjects stratified by age body mass index (BMI). Body composition was assessed via bioimpedance analysis, blood samples were analyzed profiles, glucose, proinflammatory cytokines. Oral collected polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis identify pathogens. diabetes scores calculated using SCORE FINDRISC scales. population 33.0% P. 47.8% 63.4% A. 46.6% T. 89.2% F. nucleatum. Significant age- BMI-related differences observed pathogen prevalence, particularly denticola. Young obese individuals exhibited higher intermedia forsythia. gingivalis found be hypertension dyslipidemia, while linked obesity. denticola dyslipidemia whereas forsythia alone. highlights potential connection disease, elevated BMI, increased adipose tissue, hypertension, dyslipidemia. Further research required determine causal relationships oral microbiome dysbiosis, obesity and, systemic develop an effective strategy preventing health-related adults.

Abstract Background Poor oral health is associated with several non-communicable diseases including cardiovascular disease. There are also well-known associations between lifestyle habits, disease, and health. In Europe, SCORE2 a recommended instrument for assessing an individual's risk of event within 10 years. However, no previous studies have examined the association self-rated SCORE2. Using data from cohort 40- 50-year-old individuals in Swedish primary healthcare, present cross-sectional study investigated self-reported poor assessed targeted dialogues Methods registered at 180 healthcare centres southern Sweden were invited to participate dialogues. Self-reported habits collected using web questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements, blood pressure, tests collected. Data analysed group comparisons regression models. Results A total 9499 agreed completed dialogue January 1, 2021, 10, 2024. The who reported had higher proportion high waist-hip ratio, insufficient physical activity, eating tobacco use compared good Significantly pressure was noted, as well elevated plasma glucose levels low-density lipids. analysis showed significant by among both men women. fully adjusted model, remained only Conclusions Our results indicate that should be offered screening unhealthy prevent events. Abstract Ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion results from the blockage of a major cerebral artery by clot; however, origins and molecular composition these clots remain poorly understood. Mechanical thrombectomy has become standard treatment remove obstructive clots, providing unique opportunity analyze their properties. We previously demonstrated that blood can clot into an amyloid-like form, generating fibrinaloid microclots (2–200 μm) are highly resistant fibrinolysis. In this study, archived eight ischemic patients with were examined, using samples stored in Walton Centre Clot Bank Liverpool, UK. All exhibited strong, heterogeneous amyloid staining, revealing pervasive component. These findings represent unreported characteristic highlighting potential for amyloid-targeted therapies overcome fibrinolytic resistance foundational new insight ischaemic pathophysiology treatment.

Oral diseases such as periodontal disease, dental caries, and oral cancer are significant public health problems that affect not only but also the entire body. Traditional diagnostic methods often detect these at late stages, which limits treatment options outcomes. The advent of biomarkers, biological molecules found in fluids saliva gingival crevicular fluid offers promising opportunities for early non-invasive diagnosis, prognosis, personalized treatment.
