The study examined the distribution of physicochemical parameters and toxic metals in Niger Delta Coast, Nigeria. shellfish (T. fuscatus), water, sediments, data were collected from three sampling stations over a six-month period. findings revealed considerable variability levels heavy features between stations. Station 2 had higher temperature salinity but lower total dissolved solids, pH, biological oxygen demand, oxygen. 1 highest concentrations Fe, Zn, Cd, Pb, Cu, As water sediment samples, while consistently lowest concentrations. 3 Fe Zn values terms bioaccumulation. found no significant differences (p > 0.05) all T. fuscatus 2, except for which showed slight variation < 0.05). In fish, Cu sediment, 1. For bioaccumulation, greatest concentration, measuring 0.00000123 mg/kg, both Stations shared bioaccumulation at 0.00000058 mg/Kg. possibly due to local conditions or iron sources. Higher metal these areas may lead potential environmental health implications their susceptibility pollution. suggests that constant assessment remedial measures are needed safeguard aquatic ecosystem area.

The increasing popularity of alternative proteins has raised concerns about allergenic potential, especially for plant-, insect-, fungal-, and algae-based proteins. Allergies arise when the immune system misidentifies as harmful, triggering IgE-mediated reactions that range from mild to severe. Main factors influencing allergenicity include protein structure, cross-reactivity, processing methods, gut microbiota. Disruptions in health or microbiota balance heighten risks. Common allergens legumes, cereals, nuts, oilseeds, single-cell proteins, insect-based are particularly challenging, they often remain stable resistant heat digestion despite various techniques. Processing such roasting, enzymatic hydrolysis, fermentation, show promise reducing by altering structures breaking down epitopes trigger responses. Future research should focus on optimizing these methods ensure effectively reduce risks while maintaining nutritional quality safety products.

Utilizing natural fibers for production of a fully bio-based textile is an appropriate approach to align with sustainability objectives. In case dyed products, the used dye and further finishing agents also have be bio-based. Algae-based materials are naturally colored can as product. The present study aims investigate use algae color pigment coating on cotton fiber material using binder. Three different representing blue-green (BGA), unicellular microalgae (UNI), filamentous (FIL) investigated additives coatings. applied powder recipe together sodium alginate binder component. Modification application conducted by addition calcium dichloride (CaCl2) acting crosslinker system. Using these applications, strong coloration fabrics achieved. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), measurements, light fastness tests, tests rubbing performed. Good values in reached (4–5 5, respectively) depending dichloride. Applications BGA UNI perform better due fastness. contrast, applications FIL lead confirms that proposed technique formulations achieving bio-based, offering promising foundation research into development modification functionalization materials.
