Tannins are secondary metabolites naturally present in various plants as a defense mechanism. In animal nutrition, they play dual role, acting both antinutritional factors and bioactive agents, with potential benefits nutrient metabolism product quality. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary tannin on intake digestibility, blood serum metabolite levels, growth performance, carcass characteristics, meat quality small ruminants. Ninety-seven studies were included this meta-analysis. The tannins analyzed using random-effects model determine weighted mean difference between treatments control (without tannins). Publication bias heterogeneity explored, meta-regression subgroup analyses performed. results indicated that significantly increased dry matter, crude protein, nitrogen (N), fecal N, fatty acids (FA), such C18:2 ω6, C18:3 ω3, C20:4 C20:5 total ω3 ω6 FA, polyunsaturated FA (PUFA). However, NH3-N, urinary urea nitrogen, cold weight, subcutaneous fat thickness, drip loss, digestibility decreased. conclusion, ruminants did not affect productivity antioxidative status, but mainly modified improved acid profile meat.

Edible crops are composed of macronutrients, micronutrients, and anti-nutritional factors. Anti-nutritional factors can interact with nutrients, resulting in a reduction the bioavailability these nutrients. Several methods be employed to decrease presence antinutrient elements, including processing processes like autoclaving, debranding, fermentation, soaking, germination. The integration various methodologies has potential reduce antinutrients food items. Numerous botanical species possess bioactive chemicals that have medicinal properties serve additional purposes. Grazing systems have great potential to promote animal welfare by allowing animals express natural behaviours, but they also present risks the animals. Diseases caused gastrointestinal nematodes are some of most important causes poor ruminant health and in grazing cause economic losses. Reduced growth, health, reproduction fitness, negative affective states that indicate suffering effects on infected nematode parasitism. Conventional forms control based anthelmintics, their growing inefficiency due resistance many drugs, for contamination soil products, public opinion an urgency seek alternatives. Abstract Ruminal fermentation is a natural process involving beneficial microorganisms that contribute to the production of valuable products and efficient nutrient conversion. However, it also leads emission greenhouse gases, which have detrimental effects on environment animal productivity. Phytobiotic additives emerged as potential solution these challenges, offering benefits in terms rumen modulation, pollution reduction, improved health performance. This updated review aims provide comprehensive understanding specific phytobiotic ruminant nutrition by summarizing existing studies. additives, rich secondary metabolites such tannins, saponins, alkaloids, essential oils, demonstrated biological properties positively influence enhance These environmental protection effectively reducing nitrogen excretion methane emissions from ruminants. Furthermore, they inhibit microbial respiration nitrification soil, thereby minimizing nitrous oxide emissions. In addition their impact, improve manipulation, leading increased productivity quality products. Their multifaceted properties, including anthelmintic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory effects, further well-being both animals humans. The synergistic combining with probiotics are explored, highlighting need for research this area. conclusion, show great promise sustainable effective solutions improving addressing challenges.

Phytochemicals are natural plant-derived products that provide significant nutrition, essential biomolecules, and flavor as part of our diet. They have long been known to confer protection against several diseases via their anti-inflammatory, immune-regulatory, anti-microbial, other properties. Deciphering the role phytochemicals in prevention, inhibition, treatment cancer—unrestrained cell proliferation due loss tight regulation on growth replication—has focus recent research. Particularly, immunomodulatory phytochemicals, which is pivotal unchecked metastasis, has recently studied extensively. The immune system a critical component tumor microenvironment, it plays roles both preventing promoting oncogenesis. Immunomodulation includes stimulation, amplification, or inactivation some stage(s) response. demonstrated regulation, such macrophage migration, nitric oxide synthase lymphocyte, T-cell, cytokine killer augmentation, NFκB, TNF, apoptosis regulation. Ruminants play an important part in the food supply chain, and manipulating rumen microbiota is to maximising ruminants' production. Rumen through fermentation produces as major end products volatile fatty acids that provide animal's energy requirements, microbial CP. Diet a key factor can manipulate microbiota, each variation of physical chemical composition creates specific niche selects microbes. Alteration forage, addition concentrates diet, or inclusion plant extract probiotics, induce change microbiota. High-throughput sequencing technologies are approaches utilised investigate system. Also, application omics allows us understand these useful improve selection programmes. The aim this review was summarise knowledge about its role nutrient metabolism, how diet influence composition.

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the impact maize co-ensiling with increasing percentages MOL forage on kinetics biogas, methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) production, as well characteristics ruminal fermentation CH4 conversion efficiency, using steers (STI) sheep (SHI) inoculum sources. With STI, inclusion reduced (linear: p ≤ 0.0199; quadratic: 0.0267) biogas production (mL g-1 DM incubated degraded), CO H2S without affecting (p > 0.05) parameters (b = asymptotic gas, c rate gas Lag initial delay time before production) H2S, proportion per kg dry matter (DM). In addition, inoculum, pH, degradation (DMD) increased 0.0060), although short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) metabolizable energy (ME) decreased < 0.0001; 0.0015), did not affect efficiency. Meanwhile, SHI, only 0.0206; 0.0003) (DM) degraded 0.0293; 0.0325) incubated, DM) CH4, degraded. it parameters, in by degraded, 0.0292; DMD, SCFA, ME, inefficient (quadratic: 0.0041) conversion. It is concluded that regardless percentage MOL, STI presented highest values lowest so turned out be most efficient conversion, while SHI pH obtained, less compared STI.

In this work, the stems, leaves, and flowers of Ruta chalepensis L., R. graveolens montana L. harvested in Morocco were subject to a comparative study determine phytochemical composition, antioxidant capacities, content total phenols flavonoids. For purpose, 45 crude extracts (CEs) prepared using different solvents, including water, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, hexane. Upon undergoing secondary metabolites screening, it was discovered that parts three species contain high level such as alkaloids, catechic tannins, flavonoids, coumarins, sterols, triterpenes. This confirmed by results quantitative analysis, which proved significant amount phenolic compounds, ranging from 27.05 213.42 mg GAE/g CE. With regard antiradical power (ARP) prove majority CEs have great ARP (were within range 0.42–1.99) compared BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) standard (0.33 APR). addition, capacity (TAC) analysis showed good TAC (varies between 37.67 396.80 AAE/g CE).
