Propolis is a natural mixture of resins, wax, and pollen from plant buds flowers, enriched with enzymes bee saliva. It also contains various essential oils, vitamins, mineral salts, trace elements, hormones, ferments. has been found that propolis possesses antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory properties. We have studied the antiviral activity six extracts Bulgarian collected districts Bulgaria. The study was conducted against structurally different viruses: human coronavirus strain OC-43 (HCoV OC-43) respiratory syncytial virus type 2 (HRSV-2) (enveloped RNA viruses), herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1) DNA virus), rhinovirus 14 (HRV-14) (non-enveloped virus) adenovirus 5 (HadV-5) virus). influence on internal replicative cycle viruses determined using cytopathic effect (CPE) inhibition test. virucidal activity, its impact stage viral adsorption to host cell, protective healthy cells were evaluated final dilution method, making them focal points interest. change in infectivity under action compared untreated controls, Δlgs determined. Most samples administered during demonstrated strongest HCoV replication. viability extracellular virions expressed degree studied, significantly stronger those an envelope. Almost all inhibited step and, less extent, some applied before infection cells. Our results enlarge knowledge about could open new perspectives for application treatment.

The predominant majority of bioactive compounds in natural products are polyphenols. Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the most employed analytical method for determining polyphenol profiles products. Analyses conducted based on methods validated according to number and type phenolic standards used. In this study, it was aimed determine 26 compound with HPLC-fotodiot array (PDA) detector, which preferred separation secondary metabolites commonly found analysis carried out utilizing a C18 column (250 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 μm; GL Sciences) gradient program. HPLC developed, limit detection within range 0.019-0.072 μg/mL, quantification 0.063-0.239 μg/mL. All calibration curves exhibited linear corelations R² values exceeding 0.994 across specified range. developed has been optimized by assessing limits, accuracy, repeatability, recovery data suitable analysis. It concluded that allows rapid reliable evaluation content their quantitative determination.
