In plants, flavonoids are involved many biological processes response to environmental stresses. The consumption has been known reduce risk chronic diseases due their antioxidant free radical scavenging properties. present review, we summarize classification, distribution, biosynthesis pathways, regulatory mechanisms flavonoids. Moreover, investigated activities discuss applications food processing cosmetics, as well pharmaceutical medical uses. All over the world, wild edible plants are an essential source of chemical components that justify their use in folk medicine. The aim this review is to document and summarize knowledge ten analyzed a previous study for ethnomedical significance. Achillea millefolium, Borago officinalis, Foeniculum vulgare, Gentiana lutea, Juniperus communis, Laurus nobilis, Malva sylvestris, Satureja montana, Silybum marianum Urtica dioica were subjects our study. They commonly found central Italian Apennines Mediterranean basin. Phytochemicals contained plants, such as phenols, polyphenols, flavonoids, condensed tannins, carotenoids, etc., receiving increasing attention, they exert wide range biological activities with resulting benefits human health. Under global climate change circumstances, there has been growing acknowledgment of the critical need to prevent and manage both biotic abiotic stress in crops. Plants employ a variety signaling molecules, such as jasmonic acid (JA), abscisic (ABA), Ca2+, endure stress. Additionally, they utilize reactive oxygen species (ROS) detoxifiers while also harnessing assistance beneficial microorganisms, including Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Streptomyces, others. Flavonol synthase gene (FLS) is a member of the 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase (2-ODD) superfamily and plays an important role in plant flavonoids biosynthetic pathways. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.), key source traditional Chinese medicine, widely cultivated China. Although flavonoid pathway has been studied several model species, it still remains to be explored safflower. In this study, we aimed elucidate CtFLS1 biosynthesis drought stress responses. Flavonoids are a group of polyphenolic compounds distributed in vegetables, fruits and other plants, which have considerable antioxidant, anti‑tumor anti‑inflammatory activities. High-temperature tolerant varieties/hybrids of tomato overcome stress-related changes due to their intrinsic cellular metabolic capabilities.
