Mulberry or Morus alba fruits, belonging to the Moraceae family, are well recognized for their distinct taste and high nutritional content. Nevertheless, studies revealing toxic effects of fruits scanty. This study aimed examine adverse methanolic fruit extract (MFME) derived from M. on mice following OECD 425 guidelines. The female Swiss albino were divided into two categories. One group was designated as control (administered vehicle), while other assigned test 2000 mg/kg MFME orally). Subsequently, behavioral changes monitored daily, body weights, relative organ biochemical hematological parameters measured. Additionally, liver, kidney, heart, brain, ovary assessments conducted 14th day detect any signs toxicity. A histopathological investigation anesthetized animals’ vital organs (heart, ovary). study’s findings indicate that oral administration did not result in mortality. no significant seen behavior, food water intake, parameters, investigations, weights. Furthermore, histological analysis revealed notable pathological alterations separated essential treated with MFME. results this is deemed safe up maximum dosage mg/kg.

ABSTRACT Ocimum species have a great interest in different traditional medicinal systems. This study examined the chemical composition, antioxidant properties, enzyme inhibitory effects, and antibacterial antifungal activities of aerial parts gratissimum , americanum basilicum from Comoros Islands. The extracts were analyzed using high‐performance liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry (HPLC‐MS) to determine their composition. Antioxidant activity was assessed 2,2‐Diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′‐Azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS), cupric reducing capacity (CUPRAC), ferric power (FRAP), chelating ability, phosphomolybdenum radical scavenging assays. Enzyme against acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butrylcholinesterase (BChE), tyrosinase, amylase, glucosidase evaluated spectrophotometric methods. Antibacterial tested broth microdilution method selected pathogenic microorganisms. enzymes proteins silico methods with biomolecules these plants. In addition, 111 metabolites identified advanced HPLC/MS techniques. most significant number detected compounds derivatives hydroxycinnamic acids, followed by flavonoid glycosides aglycones hydroxybenzoic acids. All three exhibited activities, O. best‐reducing abilities CUPRAC FRAP assays revealed that had potent effect on tyrosinase (48.01 ± 3.89 mg kojic acid equivalent [KAE]/g), amylase (1.08 0.02 mmol acarbose [ACAE]/g). tests demonstrated possess broad‐spectrum activity. Molecular docking results showed remarkable binding energies target proteins. molecular dynamics simulations chicoric MurE Staphylococcus aureus complex as promising drug candidate. These findings support medical nutraceutical uses suggest possibilities for natural functional applications.

Background Rosemary ( Rosmarinus officinalis ) is a perennial herb, while basil Ocimum basilicum an annual herb. Both are utilized in culinary practices and have antioxidant as well anti-inflammatory properties. However, their neuroprotective role remains to be elucidated. Purpose This study was carried out explore the potential of these herbs Swiss Albino mouse model. Materials Methods The investigation focused on evaluating impact extracts anxiety levels motor performance using comprehensive set behavioral assays, including hot plate analysis, acetic acid-induced writhing various neuropharmacological tests such anxiolytic effects, staircase, traction, writhing, effect inclined plane forced swimming. O. exhibited dose-dependent analgesic enhanced locomotor activity, improved function. Results R. showed properties but decreasing function depressive-like effects. demonstrated concentration-dependent potential. exploration into neuropharmacology rosemary holds promise for broader field natural product pharmacology. Conclusion identification bioactive compounds plants elucidation specific mechanisms neural behavior proposed. may open avenues development targeted treatments complementary therapies.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common brain associated with cognitive impairment and dementia. donepezil, an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor drug as commercial AD represents non-cost-effective treatment the toxic effects reported. As prevalence of increases, development effective therapeutic treatments urgently required. Laminaria digitata brown seaweed claimed to be able prevent treat neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, this study measured compared binding affinity toxicity seven phytoconstituents in against those donepezil using molecular docking approach. The free energy values dieckol, eckol, fucodiphlorethol G, 7-Phloroecol, laminaran, alginic acid, fucoidan were −12.3, −13.5, −10.5, −8,7, −9.7, −8.0, −10.3, −7.4 kcal/mol. All ligands constantly interacted AChE amino acid residues, namely Tyr124. Dieckol, strongest most stable interaction, classified class IV toxicity, LD50 value 866 mg/kg. It has aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) at certain doses. Theoretically, based on Lipinski's rule, dieckol likely have poor absorption permeation properties; therefore, several considerations during discovery process are needed.
