Abstract
Background
Vaccinium
corymbosum
berries
represent
a
source
of
anthocyanins
and
polyphenols
studied
tested
for
their
healthy
potential.
The
present
study
was
aimed
at
isolating,
characterizing,
quantifying
the
anthocyanin‐enriched
fraction
obtained
from
blueberry
assessing
its
biological
protective
effects
against
head
neck
cell
lines
under
inflammatory‐related
conditions.

highlands,

are
less
affected
by
global
warming
than
lower
areas,
offer
land
suitable
for
the
cultivation
of
fruit
trees.
These
species
mostly
native
to
Andes
themselves,
belonging
families
Solanaceae,
Passifloraceae,
Mirtaceae,
Rosaceae,
and
Ericaceae.
They
cultivated
in
Colombian
Andes,
areas
with
increased
solar
radiation,
between
1600
3200
m
above
sea
level
temperatures

better
adaptation

conditions,
growers
use
local
germplasm

sustainable
except

introduced
varieties.
