In
the
current
work,
production
of
dioxolanone
and
meroterpene
type
secondary
metabolites
under
different
fermentation
conditions
by
endophytic
fungus
Phyllosticta
capitalensis
(isolate
YCC4)
isolated
from
leaves
endemic
plant
Persea
indica
has
been
evaluated.
Different
techniques,
such
as
microparticle-enhanced
culture
(MPEC:
bentonite,
talcum
powder)
surface
adhesion
(SAF:
metallic
mesh
glass
wool)
were
applied
to
medium.
Ethyl
acetate
extracts
fermentations
isolate
YCC4
analyzed
for
their
content
revealed
following
derivatives:

study

Comparative Antagonistic Activities of Endolichenic Fungi Isolated from the Fruticose Lichens Ramalina and Usnea

Persistent
fungal
pathogens
remain
a
threat
to
global
food
security
as
these
continue
infect
crops
despite
different
mitigating
strategies.
Traditionally,
synthetic
fungicides
are
used
combat
threats,
but
their
environmental
and
health
impacts
have
spurred
interest
in
more
sustainable,
eco-friendly
approach.
Endolichenic
fungi
(ELF)
relatively
underexplored
group
of
microorganisms
found
thriving
inside
the
lichen
thalli.
They
seen
promising
alternatives
for
developing
sustainable
plant
disease
management
Hence,
this
study,
total
forty
ELF
isolates
from
two
fruticose
hosts-Ramalina
Usnea,
were
tested
compared
antagonistic
activities
against
three
economically
important
filamentous
pathogens-Colletotrichum
gloeosporioides,
Cladosporium
cladosporioides,
Fusarium
oxysporum.
The
results
dual
culture
assay
showed
that
all
successfully
reduced
growth
with
varying
degrees,
direct
contact
inhibition
predominant
trait
among
endolichenic
fungi.
Comparing
between
hosts,
Ramalina
generally
demonstrated
higher
percentage
test
Usnea.
This
study
underscores
importance
an
efficient
biocontrol
agent.
