Currently,
an
increasing
amount
of
evidence
supports
the
notion
that
vitamins
C,
D
and
E,
carotenoids,
omega-3
fatty
acids
may
protect
against
progression
chronic
respiratory
diseases.
Although
obstructive
pulmonary
disease
(COPD)
primarily
affects
lung,
it
is
often
accompanied
by
extrapulmonary
manifestations
such
as
weight
loss
malnutrition,
skeletal
muscle
dysfunction,
excess
harmful
oxidants,
which
can
lead
to
a
decline
in
quality
life
possible
death.
Recently,
role
various
vitamins,
minerals,
antioxidants
mitigating
effects
environmental
pollution
smoking
has
received
significant
attention.
Therefore,
this
review
evaluates
most
relevant
up-to-date
on
topic.
We
conducted
literature
between
15
May
2018
2023,
using
electronic
database
PubMed.
Our
search
keywords
included
COPD,
disease,
FEV1,
supplementation:
vitamin
A,
D,
B,
omega-3,
antioxidants,
specific
nutrient
supplementations,
clinical
trials,
randomized
controlled
trials
(RCTs).
focused
studies
measured
serum
levels
these
are
more
objective
measure
than
patient
self-reports.

appropriate

supplements

reconsidered
for
individuals
who

at
risk
