Insomnia and depression, both significantly impacting public health, are common psychosomatic illnesses that frequently co-occur in the same individual. Not only do these two conditions commonly co-occur, but they also exhibit a bidirectional link, where existence of one may heighten risk for other. Latest research offers compelling evidence significant overlap biological, psychological, sociological aspects comorbidity insomnia depression. Building on this, we aim to examine pathophysiology along with their comorbid mechanisms, encompassing biological routes (like genetics, HPA axis, immune-inflammatory activation, neuroendocrine regulation, microbiome alterations, neural circuits integrating sleep emotion regulation), as well psychosocial routes. Consequently, proposing self-perpetuating mutually reinforcing “snowball effect” model examining corresponding preventative intervention strategies rectify associated imbalances. Finally, this article encapsulates challenges field study directions future research. paper points out limitations current (cross-sectional data being dominant, mechanism multi-omics dynamics unknown) direction (longitudinal cohort combined computational modeling resolve temporal interactions), which will provide theoretical basis precision interventions.

The human gastrointestinal tract hosts a complex and dynamic community of microorganisms known as the gut microbiota, which play pivotal role in numerous physiological processes, including digestion, metabolism, immune function. Recent research has highlighted significant impact diet on microbiota composition functionality, consequential effects host health. Concurrently, there is growing evidence linking to inflammation, key factor many chronic diseases such inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular (CVDs). This review explores how dietary components influence composition, these microbial changes affect pathways, therapeutic implications modulating this axis for prevention management. Beneficial patterns, Mediterranean (MD) plant-based diets, promote diverse balanced supporting anti-inflammatory pathways. Conversely, Western (WD), high saturated fats refined sugars, associated with dysbiosis increased inflammation. With all links between three variables considered, attempts offer thorough examination triangle formed by food.

More than 20% of American adults live with a mental disorder, many whom are treatment resistant or continue to experience symptoms. Other approaches needed improve health care, including prevention. The role the microbiome has emerged as central tenet in and physical their interconnectedness (well-being). Under normal conditions, healthy promotes homeostasis within host by maintaining intestinal brain barrier integrity, thereby facilitating well-being. Owing multidirectional crosstalk between neuro-endocrine-immune systems, dysbiosis is main driver immune-mediated systemic neural inflammation that can promote disease progression detrimental well-being broadly particular. In predisposed individuals, immune dysregulation shift autoimmunity, especially presence psychological triggers. chronic stress response involves system, which intimately involved gut microbiome, particularly process education. This interconnection forms microbiota-gut-immune-brain axis disorders. this brief review, we aim highlight relationships stress, health, along ways dysregulated system an autoimmune concomitant neuropsychological consequences context axis. Finally, review evidenced-based prevention strategies potential therapeutic targets.

Inflammatory bowel (IBD) inflammatory-cancer transformation colorectal adenoma main causes CRC. There an urgent need for effective prevention intervention strategies In recent years, rapid research progress has increased our understanding gut microbiota. Meanwhile, with deepening on pathogenesis cancer, microbiota been confirmed to play a direct role occurrence treatment cancer. Strategies regulate have potential value application Regulation important ways natural products exert pharmacological effects, especially metabolic diseases tumours. Anthocyanins are mainly purple-coloured phenolic compounds of plant origin that as secondary metabolites important in survival. Understanding their health benefits humans requires sourcing these unstable sufficient quantities at a reasonable cost, which has led to improved methods extraction. Dark-coloured fruits, cereals and vegetables current sources compounds. The range potential sustainable is much larger includes non-commercialised native plants from around the world agri-waste containing anthocyanins. The human gut microbiota is a complex ecosystem of mutualistic microorganisms that play critical role in maintaining health through their individual interactions and with the host. normal gastrointestinal plays specific physiological function host immunomodulation, nutrient metabolism, vitamin synthesis, xenobiotic drug maintenance structural functional integrity mucosal barrier, protection against various pathogens. Inflammation innate immune response living tissues to injury damage caused by infections, physical chemical trauma, immunological factors, genetic derangements. Most diseases are associated an underlying inflammatory process, inflammation mediated contribution active cells. Current strategies control pathways include pharmaceutical drugs, lifestyle, dietary changes. However, this remains insufficient. Bioactive compounds (BCs) nutritional constituents found small quantities food plant extracts provide numerous benefits beyond value. BCs known for antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticarcinogenic, anti-metabolic syndrome, anti-inflammatory properties. have been shown reduce destructive effect on inhibiting or modulating effects mediators, offering hope patients suffering from chronic disorders like atherosclerosis, arthritis, bowel diseases, neurodegenerative diseases. aim present review summarise natural bioactive protecting health, safety preserve improve physiology behaviour.

High-dose radiation exposure results in gastrointestinal (GI) acute syndrome identified by the destruction of mucosal layer, intestinal growth barrier dysfunction, and aberrant inflammatory responses. Further, causes gut microbiome dysbiosis characterized diminished microbial diversity, mostly commensal bacteria, spread bacterial pathogens that trigger recruitment immune cells production pro-inflammatory factors lead to further GI tissue damage. Currently, there are no U.S. Food Drug Administration (FDA) approved countermeasures can treat radiation-induced injuries. To meet this critical need, Synedgen Inc. has developed a glycopolymer radiomitigator (MIIST305) is specifically targeted tract, which acts intercalating into mucus layer glycocalyx epithelial could potentially ameliorate deleterious effects radiation. Male C57BL/6J adult mice were exposed 13 Gy partial body X-irradiation with 5% bone marrow shielding MIIST305 was administered on days 1, 3, 5 post-irradiation. Approximately 85% animals survived irradiation apparently healthy until end 30-day study period. In contrast, control, Vehicle-treated past day 10 at dose. We show improved function suppressed systemic responses mediated cytokines. Taxonomic profiling community structure fecal colonic mucosa microbiota demonstrated treatment increased diversity restored abundance beneficial including Lactobacillus Bifidobacterium genera while suppressing pathogenic bacteria Enterococcus Staphylococcus compared animals. summary, novel GI-targeted therapeutic greatly enhances survival lethal protects tract from injury restoring balanced reducing Further development drug as an FDA-approved medical countermeasure importance.
