Household food waste is an intractable policy issue because of its multi-faceted nature. Fruit and vegetable makes up the largest part household waste. However, behaviours driving consumer fresh produce have been less explored. This study analyses behavioural socio-demographic factors affecting fruit in Australia. It uses a nationally representative sample (n = 1462) that completed 7-day electronic diary recording amount The findings indicate that, on average, discards 35.2 kg avoidable fruits vegetables annually. A higher frequency grocery shopping purchases takeaway associated with waste, whilst use list lower Older adults, couples women are more likely to experience incidence wastage at home. These helpful when developing interventions reduce households.

A 7-week group-based cooking program led by an occupational therapist was developed for older adult clients in Senior Care Centres (SCCs) Singapore. This study aimed to test this program’s feasibility and clinical effects a SCC. mixed-methods design implemented over 3 months, which included intervention booster session 1-month post-intervention. Eligible participants were screened participation. Feasibility assessed recording recruitment, attendance attrition rates. Pre- post-assessments, including community mobility, physical function self-perceived quality of life, at three time points, conducted measure functional changes. Quantitative data analysed using repeated analysis variance, all interviews audio-recorded with permission transcribed verbatim thematic analysis. Six out seven completed the high rate (80.4%). Participants demonstrated improvements functions mobility immediately after one-month follow-up. shared their motivational factors participating positive changes lifestyle routines, dietary habits, nutritional knowledge. Social personal found play crucial role compliance active participation program. Our finding suggests that structured adults SCC is acceptable feasible Finetuning content necessary before conducting larger study.

Abstract Background The recent observational studies have unveiled the correlation between composition and dynamic alterations of gut microbiome aging; however, causal relationship remains uncertain. Aims objective this study is to investigate accelerated aging as well frailty, from a genetic perspective. Methods We obtained data on microbiome, intrinsic epigenetic age acceleration, Frailty Index published large-scale genome-wide association studies. A two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted primarily using inverse variance weighting model. utilized MR-Egger intercept analysis, IVW method, Cochran Q test, leave-one-out assess robustness results. Results indicated potential Peptococcus (OR: 1.231, 95% CI 1.013–1.497, P = 0.037), Dialister 1.447, 1.078–1.941, 0.014) Subdoligranulum 1.538, 1.047–2.257, 0.028) with acceleration; while Prevotella 7 0.792, 0.672–0.935, 0.006) associated protective effect. Allisonella 1.033, 1.005–1.063, 0.022), Howardella 1.026, 1.002–1.050, 0.031) Eubacterium coprostanoligenes 1.037, 1.001–1.073, 0.042) were an increased risk frailty; conversely, Flavonifractor 0.954, 0.920–0.990, 0.012) Victivallis 0.984, 0.968-1.000, 0.049) appeared exhibit effect against frailty. Conclusion findings provide further evidence for microbiota enhancing understanding role in aging-related processes. However, underlying mechanisms clinical applications require investigation before any targeted interventions can be developed.

Introduction The main objective of the study is to better understand how knowledge about natural process aging and its implications, as well relationships with old people, shapes perceptions generation Z toward meaning age. Methods research methodology we used partial least squares structural equation modeling in which developed a model five variables: thoughts aging, feelings healthy habits, relationship people. Results results revealed direct positive impact both on beliefs Z. Discussion findings are useful for managers public sector responsible shaping more efficient health strategies meant normalize prepare young individuals aging.
