Hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA) is common among Chilean adults over 60, impacting their functionality. This study aimed to determine how health factors such as disease severity, type of OA, medication use, physical activity levels relate functionality in individuals with OA. The sample size included 67 women 13 men aged 38 92 (66.6 ± 11.2) diagnosed or hip International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) was used estimate activity, the Lequesne Index for functional impairment, VAS (Visual Analog Scale) pain. Data were collected from December 2022 March 2023. We performed bivariate analyses, which indicated that greater OA severity bilateral are associated increased impairment Medication use correlated higher pain levels, functionality; there no correlation age. Here, 65.4% variance problems explained by involvement, level, highlighting impact on Functionality who suffered when they lower activity. These findings underscore importance promoting improve quality life

Background: Atherogenic dyslipidaemia (AD) and lipid triad (LT) are characterised by high triglyceride levels together with low HDL normal or LDL cholesterol favoured a persistent state of insulin resistance (IR), which increases the release free fatty acids from abdominal adipose tissue. This alteration in profile favours accelerated development atherosclerosis, is most important cause morbidity mortality all countries developed developing world. One elements that plays major role genesis AD IR. The aim this study was to determine relationship between variables assess atherogenic risk (AD LT) scales presenting resistance. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional 418,343 workers conducted evaluate triad; three (Triglycerides/HDL, TyG index, METS-IR) established. usefulness IR for predicting LT calculated applying ROC curves, obtaining area under curve (AUC) cut-off points their sensitivity, specificity, Youden index. Multivariate analysis performed binary logistic regression. Results: prevalence high-risk values much higher people compared those without. curves present us an AUC two dyslipidaemias studied figures ranging 0.856 0.991, implies results good/very good. Conclusions: assessed revealed, mean triad. make it possible adequately classify presence LT. highest presented triglycerides/HDL scale, result close 1. METS-IR recommended formula estimate

South Korea is a unique country in many aspects terms of its strategy against the COVID-19 pandemic. From February 2020, Korean government adopted active epidemiological investigations, strict isolation affected patients, and extensive public lockdowns, which were helpful controlling spread until end 2021. This stable situation has changed dramatically since Omicron variant-reportedly less severe but more infective than original strain-became dominant from January 2022. mid-February to mid-April 2022, daily cases increased steeply, reaching > 600,000 cases/day: highest incidence rate world at that time. Despite this rapid increase, eased preventive strategies progressively, based on belief efficacy >80% vaccine coverage population. Now, June improving. The mortality 0·13%: lowest among 30 countries with case counts. High (87·7%), efficient healthcare system, co-operation between private sectors central seem have contributed this. However, it should also be noted pandemic measures had negative influence cardiometabolic profiles country. Considering likelihood another novel variant SARS-CoV-2 or new infectious disease emerging future, understanding flexibly by could beneficial for countries.

Insulin resistance (IR) is an alteration of the action insulin in cells, which do not respond adequately to this action, leading increase blood glucose levels. IR produces a very diverse clinical picture and increases cardiometabolic risk population that suffers from it. Among factors influence are genetics, unhealthy lifestyle habits, overweight, obesity. The objective work was determine how different sociodemographic variables healthy habits values scales assess presenting group Spanish workers. An observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study carried out 386,924 workers regions. Different were studied (age, social class, educational level, smoking, Mediterranean diet, physical exercise) along with their association four evaluate (TyG index, TyG-BMI, METS-IR, TG/HDL-c). To analyse quantitative variables, Student's t test used, while Chi-squared used for qualitative variables. A multinomial logistic regression analysis performed, calculating odds ratio its 95% confidence intervals. accepted level statistical significance set at p < 0.05. In multivariate analysis, all except increased high on scales, especially sedentary low adherence diet. Our results demonstrate between practice regular exercise reduction IR; strong role diet as protective factor aging IR, has also been suggested other studies; and, finally, relationship socioeconomic IR.

Metabolic compromise is crucial in aggravating age-associated chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial damage, increased LDL and triglycerides, elevated blood pressure. Excessive adiposity, hyperglycemia, insulin resistance due to aging are associated with levels of damaging free radicals, inducing a proinflammatory state hampering immune cell activity, leading malfunctioning cardiometabolic condition. The load redox imbalance contributing factors for morbidities via vascular remodelling endothelial damage. Recent evidence has claimed the importance gut microbiota maintaining regular metabolic which declines chronological comorbidities. Genetic mutations, polymorphic changes, environmental strongly correlate vulnerability aberrant changes by affecting key physiological pathways. Numerous studies have reported robust link between biological dysfunction. This review outlines scientific exploring potential mechanisms behind onset development cardiovascular issues, particularly exacerbated aging.
