Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a condition caused by combination of cardiometabolic risk factors (CMR). MetS leads to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), both which place burden on not only the patients but also healthcare system. Diagnostic criteria for vary, there no universal tool detect it. Recently, many studies have found positive associations between atherogenic index plasma (AIP) some CMR factors. Therefore, comprehensive review was needed recapitulate these qualitatively estimate likelihood AIP being associated with CMR. We aimed summarise observational data verify their association.A conducted searching "atherogenic plasma" in PubMed, One Search, Cochrane library. A total 2068 articles were screened, 32 included after excluding paediatric, non-human interventional studies, those carried out cohorts conditions unrelated or lipid-lowering medication. The Newcastle-Ottawa scale used assess quality. Most that reported high waist circumference (WC), triglycerides (TG), insulin resistance (IR) low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentration, AIP. Few investigated blood pressure (BP) discrepancies existed results.AIP may be WC, TG, IR, HDL-C. Epidemiological evidence connecting cooking fuel use to metabolic syndrome (MetS) is lacking. Solid usage and MetS prevalence were prospectively investigated in this study. We included participants 2011 2015 from the China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) data. Through cross-sectional longitudinal studies, we found that of solid fuels reduced risk compared with clean (cross-sectional study: 2011: Odds ratio (OR): 0.819, 95 %confidence interval (CI): 0.747-0.897, P < 0.001; 2015: OR: 0.766, %CI: 0.708-0.851, 0.736, 0.652-0.831, 0.001).This impact ceases exist whenever a switch type occurs (Non persistent clean: 0.937, 0.837-1.050, = 0.262; Persistent solid: 0.767, 0.691-0.853, 0.001). Moreover, biomass (crop residue wood burning) combustion (OR: 0.653, 0.573-0.743, 0.001), while coal had no effect on 1.092, 0.907-1.315, 0.352). Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a precursor to the major health diseases associated with high mortality in industrialized countries: cardiovascular disease and diabetes. An important component of pathogenesis metabolic mitochondrial dysfunction, which tissue hypoxia, disruption integrity, increased production reactive oxygen species, decrease ATP, leading chronic inflammatory state that affects tissues organ systems. The AAA + protease Lon (Lonp1) has broad spectrum activities. In addition its classical function (degradation misfolded or damaged proteins), enzymatic activity (proteolysis, chaperone activity, DNA (mtDNA)binding) been demonstrated. At same time, Lonp1 extends regulation cellular processes inside mitochondria, as well outside mitochondria (nuclear localization). This may be promising molecular target for development targeted therapy MetS components. aim this review elucidate role mtDNA components key dysfunction describe little-studied LonP1 potential disorders.

Mounting evidence suggests that meal timing and frequency are associated with cardiometabolic health by influencing circadian rhythms. However, the is inconsistent limited, especially in non-Western cultures. This cross-sectional study aims to investigate association between temporal habits of dietary intake, such as nightly fasting duration frequency, metabolic syndrome among Kuwaiti adults. A 24-hour recall was used assess intake. Meal defined number daily eating episodes. The included a total 757 adults aged 20 years older. participants' mean age 37.8 ± 12.3 years. After adjusting for all confounders, higher found be lower prevalence (OR, 0.43; 95%CI, 0.19-0.96) elevated triglycerides men only 0.23; 0.09-0.60). No syndrome, but longer 0.19; 0.06-0.63). findings suggest having frequent meals durations may help decrease risk triglycerides.

Stroke is a significant cerebrovascular disease and remains one of the leading causes death disability worldwide. Insulin resistance has been strongly linked to incidence stroke. Employing characteristics metabolic syndrome, Metabolic Score for Resistance (METS-IR) accurately measures insulin resistance. Nonetheless, relationship between METS-IR stroke risk not well-established. We analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) covering years 2007-2018. Participants providing complete self-reported information were included in study. utilized weighted multivariate regression explore stroke, performing subgroup analyses as well. A total 14,794 participants included, with an average 43.44 ± 12.68. The overall prevalence was 3.79%, higher rates observed upper tertiles. An increase unit associated 1% (OR = 1.01; 95% CI: 1.01-1.02). Interaction tests indicated no effects gender, smoking status, alcohol consumption, hypertension, diabetes, physical activity, or serum cholesterol levels on this relationship. Notably, younger than 60 years, association significantly stronger 1.02; 1.01-1.03), marked interaction (p 0.0061). Our findings indicate positive correlation increased risk. Early intervention targeting may be viable preventive measure against particularly individuals under age.
