Abstract Background Although evidence suggests that ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption may trigger addictive behaviors, the association between UPF intake and psychoactive substances remains unclear among adolescents, a group especially vulnerable to addiction its potentially harmful effects on health. Objective To analyze of alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs in adolescent students. Method This cross-sectional study analyzed data from National School-Based Health Survey (PeNSE 2019), which collected information representative population-based sample students aged 13–17 years Brazil. was self-reported 24-h recall. Lifetime use last month were also reported. Multinomial logistic regression models estimated relative risk ratios (RRR) (95% confidence intervals – CI) because outcome variables comprised four categories representing varying frequencies substances. Results The mean ± standard error number different consumed 95,074 adolescents included (52.3% girls) 4.37 0.02. results adjusted revealed that, compared those who reported low (1 st tertile), more (3 rd tertile) likely report frequent (≥ 3 days month) drinking alcoholic beverages (RRR = 2.19; 95% CI: 1.87, 2.56), 2.22; 2.85) occasional (one or two smoking 1.30; 1.05, 1.60). Conclusions associated with drug national Brazilian adolescents.

Objective To explore the influence of serum metabolites on risk psoriasis. Methods In initial stage, we applied Mendelian randomization to evaluate association between 1,400 and Causal effects were primarily assessed through Inverse-Variance Weighted method Wald Ratio’s odds ratios, 95% confidence intervals. False Discovery Rate was used for multiple comparison corrections. Sensitivity analyses conducted using Cochran’s Q Test, MR-PRESSO. MR-Steiger Test employed check reverse causality. validation sought other sources psoriasis GWAS data verify results meta-analysis combine effect sizes obtain robust causal relationships. addition, also metabolic pathway enrichment analysis known that have a relationship with in both stages. Results identified 112 causally associated psoriasis, including 32 metabolite ratios 80 (69 11 unknown). 24 (16 known, 1 unknown, 7 ratios) confirmed onset. Meta-analysis showed overall combined consistent main direction Of 16 metabolites, most attributed lipid metabolism, 5 as factors 8 protective Peptidic Gamma-glutamylvaline levels had negative while exogenous Catechol sulfate amino acid 3-methylglutaconate positive disease The two stages are mainly enriched following pathways: Glutathione Alpha Linolenic Acid Linoleic Metabolism, Biosynthesis unsaturated fatty acids, Arachidonic Glycerophospholipid metabolism. Conclusion Circulating may potential risk, targeting specific benefit diagnosis, assessment, treatment.

Background Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have been associated with a higher intake of added sugars, sodium, and unhealthy fats; however, the relationship between UPFs quality life (QoL) is not well understood. Methods The present cross-sectional study included 193 Iranian women aged 18–48 years body mass index (BMI) ≥25 kg/m 2 . were identified using NOVA classification. QoL was evaluated SF-36 questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements composition assessed an appropriate method. Results mean BMI fat-free (FFM) subjects 30.90 46.69 kg, respectively. At first, significant difference observed in height across tertiles UPF consumption. score total scale 66.90. Women who tertile 3 had 23.59 units lower limitation physical capabilities activity (score role-physical) ( β = −23.59, 95% CI: −37.77–9.40, p 0.001). Among those highest adherence to intake, there 8.76 unit reduction addressing feelings energy fatigue (vitality domain) model −8.76, −16.42–1.11, 0.02). Finally, 15.78 mental health scale, specifically states anxiety depression, among participants third −15.78, −24.11–7.45, < Conclusion Increased consumption women. Further studies are needed confirm these findings develop effective strategies promote healthy food choices.

Depression is a major global health concern expected to worsen by 2030. In 2019, 28 million individuals were affected depressive disorders. Dietary and supplemental vitamins show overall favorable preventative therapeutic effects on depression. B are crucial for neurological function mood regulation. Deficiencies in these linked Studies individual promise improving symptoms, particularly thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate. Vitamin C deficiency may heighten but its exact role not fully understood. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) associated with insufficient sunlight exposure vitamin D deficiency. supplementation SAD shows inconsistent results due methodological variations. Further investigation needed understand the mechanisms of depression treatment. Moreover, more research light therapy’s efficacy underlying involving photoreceptors, enzymes, immune markers needed. Although dietary depression, dietitians treating psychiatric disorders face challenges diverse study designs, making direct comparisons difficult. Therefore, this article reviews current literature assess prevention treatment This review found that, although evidence supports preventing further clarify their action determine most effective intervention strategies.

Background: Global ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption has risen rapidly. The development and prognosis of depression anxiety remain unclarified. Herein, we aimed to examine the association between UPF incidence progression trajectory anxiety.
