Dietary Supplementation with Rumen-Protected Arginine or N-Carbamylglutamate Enhances Fetal Liver Development in Nutrient-Restricted Pregnant Hu Ewes

This
study
was
conducted
in
nutrient-restricted
pregnant
Hu
ewes
to
determine
whether
rumen-protected
arginine
(RP-Arg)
or
N-carbamylglutamate
(NCG)
supplementation
affects
fetal
liver
growth
and
development.
From
35
d
110
of
gestation,
32
were
randomly
divided
into
four
groups:
a
control
group
(100%
the
National
Research
Council
(NRC)
requirements),
(50%
NRC
two
treatment
groups
(ARG
NCG,
50%
requirements,
supplemented
with
20
g/day
RP-Arg

respectively).
Fetal
body
weights,
performance,
capability
antioxidation,
expression
mRNA
proteins
apoptosis-related
genes
determined
analyzed

gestation.

than

The mediating role of primary sclerosing cholangitis in the association between ulcerative colitis and hepatobiliary cancer investigated through Mendelian randomization

This
study
explored
the
causal
relationships
among
primary
sclerosing
cholangitis
(PSC),
ulcerative
colitis
(UC),
and
hepatobiliary
cancer
(HBC)
by
using
bidirectional
two-sample,
two-step
Mendelian
randomization
(MR)
analysis.
Genetic
variants
associated
with
PSC
UC
from
FinnGen
research
database
were
used
for
instrumental
variable-based
analyses.
Mediation
analyses
conducted
to
examine
role
of
in
HBC
risk.
The
findings
revealed
a
effect
genetic
predisposition
on
risk
(inverse-variance-weighted
[IVW]
analysis
odds
ratio
[OR]
1.145,
p
<
0.001),
whereas
no
reverse
causality
was
observed.
Although
showed
direct
risk,
susceptibility
significantly
increased
(IVW
OR
=
1.855,
0.001).
further
identified
as
significant
mediator
amplifying
(effect

results
established
link
between
PSC,
