Eating
disorders
(ED)
are
severe
psychiatric
conditions.
While
the
biological
consequences
of
EDs
well
established,
including
an
increase
in
inflammatory
biomarkers,
influence
psychological
factors,
such
as
loneliness,
has
only
recently
gained
attention
research.
Loneliness
been
associated
with
more
psychopathology
ED
patients,
while
its
association
biomarkers
explored
general
population.
For
these
reasons,
we
aimed
to
investigate
any
possible
associations
between
features,
trauma,
and
loneliness

Abstract
Objective
Research
demonstrates
associations
between
poor
social
cognition
and
eating
disorder
(ED)
pathology.
Moreover,
research
shows
that
individuals
with
EDs
struggle

regulation.

present
study
replicates
extends
the
literature
on
ED
pathology,
which
previously
focused
largely
symptoms
of
anorexia
nervosa
among
women
while

Background
Eating
disorders
(ED)
involve
dysfunctional
attitudes
towards
food
intake,
affecting
physical
and
psychosocial
well-being.

impact
various
domains
of
life

in
health-related
quality
(HRQoL).
Recent
studies
emphasize
the
importance
addressing
HRQoL
ED
treatment,
particularly
context
social
isolation
loneliness,
but
this
aspect
is
currently
poorly
evaluated.
Methods
A
sample
220
people
with
an
was
enrolled
for
study
from
different
centers
specialized
treatment
compared
151
general
population.
Different
validated
questionnaires
were
used
evaluate
eating
psychopathology,
HRQoL,
loneliness.
Partial
correlation
analyzes
adjusted
marital
status
regressions
relationships
between
constructs
differences
groups.
Results
Higher
feelings
loneliness
associated
poorer
patients
controls.
In
group,
both
psychopathology
significant
predictors
HRQoL.
Meanwhile,
duration
disorder
predicted
specifically
underweight
patients,
BMI
predictor
individuals
normal
or
above-normal
weight.
Conclusions
findings
highlight
considering
EDs,
among
younger
individuals.

approach

increasing
focus
on
role
interpersonal
recovery
