Inflammation plays a pivotal role in the resolution of infection or tissue damage. In addition, inflammation is considered hallmark aging, which turn compromises wound healing. Thymbra capitata an aromatic plant, whose infusion traditionally used as anti-inflammatory and wound-healing agent. this study, T. was prepared characterized by HPLC-PDA-ESI-MSn its safety profile determined resazurin metabolic assay. The potential revealed lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages assessing nitric oxide (NO) release levels inducible synthase (iNOS) interleukin-1β pro-form (pro-IL-1β). Wound-healing capacity using scratch activity senescence-associated β-galactosidase to unveil anti-senescent potential, along with nuclear accumulation yH2AX p21 levels. antiradical assessed DPPH ABTS scavenging assays. contains predominantly rosmarinic acid salvianolic acids. extract decreased NO, iNOS, pro-IL-1β Interestingly, promoted healing activity, well present work highlights strong antiradical, anti-inflammatory, capacities, corroborating traditional uses ascribed plant. We have described, for first time extract, properties.

Essential oils (EOs) are gaining ground and have been intensively studied due to their widespread use in the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics industries. The essential components of EOs recognized for diverse therapeutic activities gained significant attention potential antibacterial activities. Despite popularity potent biological properties, bioactive derivatives still not comprehensively characterized. This review explores efficacy selected EO derivatives, focusing on monoterpenes chosen (i.e., carvacrol, menthol, thymol) phenylpropanoids cinnamaldehyde eugenol). Furthermore, this highlights recent advancements developing these components, which shown improved activity with reduced toxicity. By summarizing studies, reveals natural compounds as promising candidates pharmaceuticals, food preservation, alternatives synthetic antibiotics combating bacterial resistance.

Matairesinol (MAT), a plant lignan renowned for its anticancer properties in hormone-sensitive cancers like breast and prostate cancers, presents promising yet underexplored avenue the treatment of metastatic cancer (mPC). To elucidate specific therapeutic targets mechanisms, our study adopted an integrative approach, amalgamating network pharmacology (NP), bioinformatics, GeneMANIA-based functional association (GMFA), experimental validation. By mining online databases, we identified 27 common mPC MAT, constructing MAT-mPC protein-protein interaction via STRING pinpointing 11 hub such as EGFR, AKT1, ERBB2, MET, IGF1, CASP3, HSP90AA1, HIF1A, MMP2, HGF, MMP9 with CytoHuba. Utilizing DAVID, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis highlighted metastasis-related processes epithelial-mesenchymal transition, positive regulation cell migration, key Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) pathways, including cancer, PI3K-Akt, MAPK signaling, while web resources UALCAN GEPIA2 affirmed clinical significance top patient survival gene expression patterns. Our innovative GMFA enrichment method further enriched findings. Molecular docking analyses demonstrated substantial interactions between MAT targets. Simulation studies confirmed stable selected Experimental validation PC3 cells, employing quantitative real-time reverse-transcription PCR various cell-based assays, corroborated MAT's antimetastatic effects on mPC. Thus, this exhaustive NP analysis, complemented by GMFA, molecular docking, dynamics simulations, validations, underscores multifaceted role targeting through diverse avenues. Nevertheless, comprehensive vitro is imperative to solidify these

Ageing is a natural process characterized by time-dependent decline of physiological integrity that compromises functionality and inevitably leads to death. This also quite relevant in major human pathologies, being primary risk factor neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases musculoskeletal disorders. Bearing this mind, it not surprising research aiming at improving health during has burst the last decades. Importantly, hallmarks ageing phenotype have been identified, knowledge for future studies towards identification putative pharmaceutical targets, enabling development preventive/therapeutic strategies improve longevity. In context, aromatic plants emerged as source potential bioactive volatile molecules, mainly monoterpenes, with many referring their anti-ageing potential. Nevertheless, an integrated review on current lacking, several approaches studying isolated or overall effect, without depicting possible mechanisms action. Herein, we aim provide updated systematization monoterpenes recently proposed hallmarks, highlight main action already well chemical entity–activity relations. By gathering categorizing available scattered information, identify important gaps could help pave way field.

With the increase in global life expectancy, maintaining health into old age becomes a challenge, and research has thus concentrated on various strategies which aimed to mitigate effects of skin aging. Aromatic plants stand out as promising sources anti-aging compounds due their secondary metabolites, particularly essential oils (EOs). The aim this study was ascribe Ferulago lutea EO several biological activities that could be useful context obtained using hydrodistillation characterized by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). anti-inflammatory potential assessed lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages. effect cell migration disclosed scratch wound assay. Lipogenesis induced T0901317, hyperpigmentation with 3-isobutyl-1-methylxantine (IBMX) senescence etoposide. Our results show mainly α-pinene limonene. able decrease nitric oxide (NO) release well iNOS pro-IL-1β protein levels. promoted healing while decreasing lipogenesis having depigmenting effects. also reduced senescence-associated β-galactosidase, p21/p53 levels nuclear accumulation γH2AX. Overall, our highlights properties F. make it compelling candidate for dermocosmetics applications.
