Numerous studies have demonstrated a correlation between alterations in gut microbiota (GM) and levels of body metabolites ovarian cancer (OC). However, the specific causal relationships underlying these associations remain unclear. This study utilized summary statistics GM from MiBioGen consortium, along with an unprecedented dataset comprising 1091 blood 309 metabolite ratios UK Biobank, conjunction OC data FinnGen Consortium R9 release. We conducted bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to investigate OC. Additionally, two-step MR approach was employed identify potential mediating metabolites. Our analysis revealed significant 6 taxa Furthermore, we identified several plasma that act as mediators association In analysis, observed negative 4-methoxyphenol sulfate pregnenetriol disulfate The genus Lachnospiraceae UCG008 potentially increases risk by decreasing levels, while Howardella may elevate reducing mediation proportions 22.35% 4.23%, respectively. dilinoleoyl-GPE (18:2/18:2) N-acetylkynurenine (2) were positively correlated inhibitory effect Ruminococcus 1 on be mediated through 1,2-dilinoleoyl-GPE (2), 10.15% 11.32%, findings highlight complex relationship among GM, metabolites, effects offer valuable insights into therapeutic approaches targeting for management

Glaucoma is the primary cause of irreversible blindness globally. Different glaucoma subtypes are identified by their underlying mechanisms, and treatment options differ its pathogenesis. Current management includes topical medications to lower intraocular pressure surgical procedures like trabeculoplasty drainage implants. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) an almost effective safe option for recurrent Clostridium difficile infection. The relationship between bacterial populations, metabolites, inflammatory pathways in retinal diseases indicates possible therapeutic strategies. Thus, incorporating host microbiota-based therapies could offer additional patients. Here, we propose that combining FMT with standard treatments may benefit those affected this condition. Also, potential safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness clinical applications discussed.
