Oat anthranilamides have demonstrated antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects; however, the precise mechanism of action remains unclear. This study investigated impact oat anthranilamide B (AVN B) on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced intestinal inflammation in mice its underlying mechanisms. The results indicated that AVN supplementation mitigated weight gain reduced inflammatory oxidative stress markers serum, liver, intestines. It improved barrier dysfunction by upregulating expression levels Occludin MUC2 while simultaneously reducing inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB signalling pathway. Additionally, treatment gut microbiota composition. increased abundance beneficial flora production short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), especially propionate butyrate, associated with pro-inflammatory factors enhanced protection. findings provide scientific evidence for potential as an agent.

The pursuit of food-based alternatives to conventional therapies for ulcerative colitis (UC) demands immediate attention. In prior investigations, we synthesized WPI–stachyose conjugates through the Maillard reaction, identifying them as functional prebiotics. However, their impact on in vivo regulation gut microbiota remains inadequately explored. To bridge this gap, delved into therapeutic effects and mechanisms prebiotic-functional components C57BL/6J mice afflicted with dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced UC. treatment involving led significant advancements, evident reduction pro-inflammatory cytokine levels restoration composition. Noticeable enhancements were observed UC-associated symptoms, including weight loss, colon length reduction, tissue damage, notably improving treated mice. Remarkably, both physical combination effectively lowered cytokines oxidative stress, demonstrating enhanced effectiveness. Furthermore, simultaneous administration further amplified presence beneficial bacteria elevated short-chain fatty acids, acknowledged favorable across various conditions. These findings underscore potential application addressing DSS-induced UC, offering insights innovative strategies.
