Migraine is a common neurological illness that causes great burden on individuals and society. Many migraine patients seek relief through complementary alternative therapies, with Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) often being their preferred choice. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage are important components of TCM, commonly used in clinical treatment migraine. This review aims to consolidate the current knowledge regarding mechanisms three TCM interventions for migraine: acupuncture, herbs, massage, how they relieve pain. However, underlying effectiveness therapies treating remain unclear. Therefore, we reviewed research progress as approaches We conducted comprehensive search CNKI, PubMed, Web Science, Cochrane databases using keywords such migraine, needle, herbal, prescription, decoction, Tuina, covering period from 2000 2023. Recurrent and intense headache is a well appreciated cardinal feature of migraine, common incapacitating neurological disorder. Often, there are associated canonical sensory abnormalities, such as light sound sensitivity, nausea. Given this phenotype disordered processing and, in third patients, the phenomenon called aura accompanying migraine attacks, it has been suggested that pathophysiology likely to involve glutamate, main excitatory neurotransmitter central nervous system (CNS). Glutamate plays role nociception, sensitization, cortical spreading depression (CSD), three processes deemed important biology. With an emphasis on therapeutic potential targeting various glutamate receptors review will discuss currently available literature emerging findings glutamatergic pathways for treatment migraine. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is an essential water-soluble vitamin that serves as a precursor of flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and adenine dinucleotide (FAD). FMN FAD are coenzymes involved in key enzymatic reactions energy metabolism, biosynthesis, detoxification electron scavenging pathways. deficiency prevalent worldwide impacts women's health due to riboflavin demands linked urogenital reproductive health, hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, breastfeeding. Innovative functional foods nutraceuticals increasingly developed meet needs supplement dietary sources. An emerging particularly promising strategy administration riboflavin-producing lactic acid bacteria, combining benefits with those probiotics situ production. Specific taxa lactobacilli particular interest for women, because crucial role Lactobacillus species vagina documented effects other Lactobacillaceae gut on skin. In this narrative review, we synthesize underlying molecular mechanisms clinical intake evaluate synergistic potential microbiota.

The severity of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) shows wide variations, though the reason remains unclear. Vitamin D (VitD) deficiency is considered a risk factor for ASD and its supplementation was reported to reduce symptom severity. Since VitD, either synthesized in skin or absorbed from food, transported liver by vitamin binding protein (DBP), we have analyzed DBP genetic polymorphisms [rs7041 (A/C), rs4588 (G/T), rs3755967 (C/T)] affecting function [Case = 411; Control 397], levels plasma 25(OH)D 25; 26], mRNA expression 74; 44] group Indo-Caucasoid probands neurotypical subjects. with rs7041'CC', 'TT', 'TT' genotypes exhibited higher scores few traits. Scores Imitation Listening response were also presence "A-T" haplotype (rs7041-rs4588). Fuzi, a Chinese herb widely used in clinical settings, exhibits varying levels of toxicity depending on its geographical origin. Diester-type alkaloids are the primary contributors to Fuzi. This study aims investigate regional differences and underlying mechanisms Fuzi-induced neurotoxicity across China. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/Ionization mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) method was employed map spatial distribution six key diester-type from Fuzi samples originating five major regions. The results showed that were primarily distributed cuticle Anguo- Ludian-Fuzi, cuticle, cork, pith Butuo-Fuzi, phloem tissues Chenggu-Fuzi, inner phloem, Jiangyou-Fuzi. When zebrafish exposed decoction for 24 h, it observed Jiangyou-Fuzi induced most significant neurobehavioral abnormalities, lipid peroxidation damage, aberrant neurotransmitters release. RNA sequencing analysis further indicated amino acid metabolism, ErbB, cGMP-PKG, p53 signaling pathways-regulated by changes expression Glub, Mao, GAB1, PRKG1B, PSEN2, BAXα genes disrupted extents different origins. In summary, variability can be attributed active compounds mechanisms. Among tested, exhibited highest neurotoxicity, followed Anguo-, Chenggu-, Ludian-, Butuo-Fuzi.

Skin aging, autonomic mobility, memory function and physical deterioration are important features of effective anti-aging treatments in slowing down these processes. The objective this research was to evaluate the protective effect Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao) Collagen Peptides (CCACPs) on D-galactose (D-gal) injection combined with UV irradiation-induced senescence mice. BY-HEALTH collagen oral solution (Bcos) used as a positive control. Behavioural experiments showed that CCACPs significantly improved voluntary activity, learning exercise endurance aging Elisa results reduced levels matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) MMP-3 skin, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) brain, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) azelaic (AST) liver mice, while increasing I skin SOD brain. RT-qPCR revealed expression p16, p19 p21 genes hippocampus, well IL-6 skin. Histological analysis brain confirmed effects CCACPs. findings indicated may potentially slow caused by UVB exposure mice reducing cellular oxidative stress levels. provide scientific basis for continuing advance extraction peptides from potential therapy.

Abstract Tryptophan (TRP) metabolism produces various neuroactive substances in the gastrointestinal tract, as well central and peripheral nervous systems intestinal microbiota. Initially centered on serotonin pathway TRP itself, many studies are now focusing kynurenine pathway, with an increasing interest indole pathway. Several metabolites have been associated migraines, suggesting that may serve a potential therapeutic target. However, these significant limitations, including small number of participants, lack standardized diets prior to and/or during clinical trials, insufficient information regarding transformation after its intake. Furthermore, no thorough study encompasses all essential components metabolism: products, enzymes, receptors, transporters. Different mechanisms explain involvement glutamate signaling neurovasodilatory, immune, oxidative, inflammatory processes. The results role migraine be helpful for making dietary recommendations prevention management; however, individual characteristics metabolizing should considered. aim this narrative perspective review is critically present explore their implications therapy. Unlike other reviews focus solely either or our paper addresses three primary pathways.
