Summary Specific gluten protein fractions cause major health problems to individuals with coeliac disease. The aim of this study was review reduction in foods based on information disclosed patents, a rarely cited source, support from science. Overall, 89 patents were published up August 2024, and 79% reported unique information, not mentioned the scientific literature. most popular topics wheat barley genes modifications, proteolytic enzymes for brewing, bacterial starters bread making. Other detoxification removal techniques comprised kernels sorting, as well separation, binding, heating, chemical treatments. Extensive degradation gluten‐containing ingredients impaired much food properties, especially bread. Few patented inventions would meet needs persons because gluten‐free need be prepared low‐gluten ingredients, confirmed by proper analytical techniques.

Celiac disease (CeD) is an autoimmune with a strong association human leukocyte antigen (HLA), characterized by the production of specific autoantibodies and immune-mediated enterocyte killing. CeD unique condition, as it only one in which environmental trigger known: gluten, storage protein present wheat, barley, rye. How when loss tolerance intestinal mucosa to gluten occurs still unknown. This event, through activation adaptive immune responses, enhances epithelial cell death, increases permeability barrier, induces secretion pro-inflammatory cytokines, resulting transition from genetic predisposition actual onset disease. While role gastrointestinal infections possible has been considered on basis mechanism mimicry, more likely alternative appears involve complex disruption microbiota ecosystem triggered infections, rather than effect single pathogen mucosal homeostasis. Several lines evidence show existence dysbiosis that precedes genetically at-risk subjects, protective bacterial elements both epigenetically functionally can influence response epithelium leading tolerance. We have conducted literature review order summarize current knowledge about part unraveled accompanies some exciting new data how this might be prevented and/or counteracted. The search was PubMed.gov time frame 2010 March 2024 utilizing terms "celiac microbiota", microbiome", probiotics" restricting following article types: Clinical Trials, Meta-Analysis, Review, Systematic Review. Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten-containing food genetically predisposed individuals. Hence, treatment CD consists permanent avoidance wheat, rye, barley, and other foods. Lifelong adherence to gluten-free diet (GFD) improves symptoms CD, but recent evidence suggests it also associated with higher risk for hepatic steatosis coexistence or emergence cardiometabolic factors. Moreover, liver reported some authors as potential extraintestinal complication itself. Recent nomenclature changes designate association between at least one five factors metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic (MASLD). An extended network potentially causative underlying MAFLD before after dietary therapy implemented, was recently described. The individualized these patients less supported evidence, most current recommendations relying on empiric clinical judgment. This review focuses associations injury, either an manifestation side effect GFD, referring therapeutic strategies

This study aimed to characterize micronutrient deficiencies, including iron, ferritin, folic acid, vitamin D, zinc (Zn), B 12 , and copper, in patients with celiac disease, evaluated the effects of these deficiencies on selected hematological parameters, hemoglobin mean corpuscular volume (MCV). Celiac disease (CeD), an immune-mediated disorder affecting small bowel, is associated genetic factors deficiencies. meta-analysis was performed accordance PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches multiple databases retrieved 4140 studies, which 45 were selected. Risk Bias STROBE checklist. Meta-analysis revealed a significant difference levels between CeD controls (standardized (SMD) −0.59 (95% confidence interval (CI) −0.8459 −0.3382); P = 0.0003). Iron lower (SMD ≈ −0.4 CI −0.7385 −0.0407); 0.0334), as ferritin −0.6358 −0.8962 −0.3755); 0.0002), acid −0.5446 −0.9749 −0.1142); 0.0187), D −0.4011 −0.8020 −0.0001); 0.0499) levels, while Zn significantly reduced −1.1398 −2.0712 −0.2084); 0.0242). This chapter examines dietary fiber's evolving role in sports nutrition, extending beyond digestive health to impact athletic performance, recovery, and overall wellness. Fiber enhances gut by fostering beneficial microbiota, improving nutrient absorption, reducing GI issues—vital for endurance strength athletes alike. It aids metabolic regulation stabilizing blood glucose insulin sensitivity, promoting sustained energy efficient recovery. also supports immunity, lowers inflammation, reduces exercise-induced oxidative stress, helping accelerate recovery ease muscle soreness. However, excessive fiber intake can cause discomfort, so tailored guidelines are provided optimizing across training phases. Specific fibers, including prebiotics, beta-glucans, resistant starches, discussed with strategies integrating fiber-rich foods supplements based on activity type, diet preferences, athlete needs.

Diet is the only treatment for celiac disease (CeD), and good adherence to a gluten-free diet (GFD) way ensure complete remission prevent complications. Limited education about GFD an attributing factor inadequate adherence. Thus, our aim was assess current knowledge clinical monitoring of among CeD people HCPs. Specific questionnaires were designed distributed (Q1 questionnaire) (n = 2437) analyze follow-up from perspective patients (Q2 1294) HCPs (Q3 346). Two-thirds specialized in pediatric care, while one-third did so adult care. In people, general questions regarding food classification cross-contamination are well understood. When have doubts, 51.4% reported using Internet social networks. it crucial that resources like media reliable provide valuable information. Q3 revealed lack time follow up after diagnosis (48% allocate < 15 min), interest further training, need professional diets within healthcare system. conclusion, essential enhance nutritional increase awareness GFD.

Celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder induced by the ingestion of gluten, affects approximately 1.4% population. Gluten damages villi small intestine, producing symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating and a subsequent loss nutrient absorption, causing destabilization nutritional status. Moreover, gluten can trigger extra intestinal symptoms, asthma or dermatitis, but also mental disorders depression anxiety. people suffering from celiac disease sometimes feel misunderstood society, mainly due to lack knowledge about gluten-free diet. Thus, treatment follow-up patients with should be approached different perspectives, following: (1) clinical perspective: symptomatology dietary adherence monitorization; (2) assessment: balance achievement; (3) psychological assistance: avoidance; (4) social inclusion: educating society in order avoid isolation those disease. The aim this narrative review is gain deep insight into strategies that currently exist work on each these perspectives clarify how complete approach undertaken so optimum quality life collective reached.

A strict lifelong gluten-free diet (GFD) is the current treatment for management of celiac disease (CD). Several studies have demonstrated that without proper dietary assessment, this leads to nutritional deficiencies and/or imbalances. The present study aimed improve habits newly diagnosed children with CD through ongoing and face-to-face counseling. Forty-three participants were followed during first year after diagnosis. Dietary data collected at diagnosis (Vt0), 3 months on a GFD (Vt3), 1 following (Vt12). Participants completed 3-day 24-h food recall, frequency questionnaire, KIDMED index. After each collection, received assessment education. consumed more plant-origin foods intervention, most them reaching daily recommendations. Fresh intake increased ultra-processed decreased. Compliance Mediterranean also improved. Personalized follow-up improved patterns recently CD, highlighting importance dietitian involvement in CD.
