Gender differences in dietary habits, physical activity and body composition are key determinants of health disease risk. Although these well documented, their variation across age groups remains poorly explored. This study examines gender-specific patterns eating behaviours, sport preferences metrics, with the aim providing evidence for tailored public interventions. A cross-sectional was conducted on 2,276 participants (1,349 females 927 males) aged 18–75 years. Recruitment combined an online survey clinical assessments. Body evaluated bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) habits were investigated detailed weekly food diaries. between five statistically analysed using chi-square t-tests (p ≤ 0.05). The protocol approved by Lazio Area 5 Ethics Committee. Significant observed genders: men had a higher lean mass basal metabolic rate, whereas women showed fat all groups. Eating varied significantly: preferred salty protein-rich foods, consumed alcohol more frequently prevalence meal skipping uncontrolled behaviour. Women greater regularity, preference sweet tastes likelihood alone older Sports participation differs markedly group 30–39 years, which predominantly involved team sports, while favoured strength training skill activities. highlights strong gender disparities lifestyle behaviour, evolve age. These findings underline that strategies, responding to requirements, needed promote healthier lifestyles reduce inequalities. Future studies should use longitudinal designs explore causal relationships. is registered ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT06661330; 22 October 2024, retrospectively). Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's (CD), consists of chronic gastrointestinal inflammation, with nutrition playing a significant role in its development. IBD patients often face dietary challenges affecting their quality life (QoL), yet research on food-related QoL (FR-QoL) sex-specific differences is limited. It was hypothesized that patterns choices impact these effects vary by sex. The objective this analysis was, therefore, to evaluate the diet for men women IBD, respectively. A monocentric, cross-sectional study at tertiary referral center analyzed 117 116 particular focus patterns. To achieve this, multiple assessment tools, German version IBD-specific Questionnaire Food-Related Quality Life (FR-QoL-29-German) validated Food Frequency (FFQ) behavior, were used. Clinical indices (Harvey-Bradshaw Index (HBI); Partial Mayo Score (PMS)) biochemical markers (C-reactive protein; fecal calprotectin) evaluated. FR-QoL-29-German sum score differed significantly between sexes (p = 0.034; g -0.3), showing higher mean score. Distinct showed little correlation FR-QoL both sexes, except inverse sQ-HPF scores 0.021; r -0.214) but not 0.897; -0.012). Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic influenced by genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. While MASLD more prevalent in men, women are at increased risk after menopause, highlighting critical pathogenetic role of sex hormones. The complex interplay between estrogen deficiency, visceral fat accumulation, metabolic syndrome (MetS), inflammation accelerates progression, increases cardiovascular (CV) risk, triggers a cycle worsening adiposity, dysfunction, psychological problems, including eating disorders. Weight loss postmenopausal can significantly improve both outcomes, helping to prevent related conditions. This review examines prevalence MASLD, its comorbidities (type 2 diabetes T2D, CV, mental disorders), mechanisms, pharmacological treatment with GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RAs), focus on women. Given use GLP1-RAs obesity T2D patients, increase MetS this analyzes potential stable GLP-1–estrogen conjugate as therapeutic approach subgroup. By combining synergistic effects hormones, dual agonist has been shown food intake reward suppression, resulting greater weight improved insulin sensitivity, glucose, lipid metabolism. Therefore, we hypothesize that pharmacotherapy may provide targeted benefits than either hormone alone protecting liver, β-cells, overall health. This study was conducted on 5 March 2024, by the Universidad Europea de Madrid. aims to explore how body image perceptions influence health behaviors and mental physical outcomes among a specific group of 605 young adults aged 20 35 engaged in strength training regimes. To measure these perceptions, Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ) employed, an advanced tool that assesses multiple dimensions through its subscales, including feelings attractiveness, investment one's appearance, satisfaction with different areas. Participants were segmented into two groups based median split their self-reported image. The survey assessed diverse array variables, demographic details, physiological data, resistance routines, psychological attributes. In this revision, we consistently use term 'dietary habits' ensure clear uniform language when discussing eating patterns. Notable differences observed dietary habits exercise engagement, influenced significantly perceptions. Negative linked less healthy habits, diminished activity, worse outcomes, such as increased anxiety depression. Conversely, positive associated healthier more frequent better health. findings suggest interventions aimed at improving could be crucial for enhancing overall within demographic. Due non-representative nature group, conclusions are cautiously presented applicable only similar populations training. underscores need holistic strategies encourage improve both adults.

Mycotoxins, toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi, present significant health risks through contaminated food and feed. Despite broad documentation of their general impacts, emerging research highlights the requirement addressing both sex- gender-specific differences in risk exposure, susceptibility, outcomes mycotoxin screening mitigation strategies. Distinct biological (sex-based) sociocultural (gender-based) factors can influence exposure subsequent impacts; women may for example exhibit specific exposures to certain mycotoxins due physiological hormonal differences, with increased during critical life stages such as pregnancy lactation. Conversely, men demonstrate distinct metabolic immune responses these toxins. Socioeconomic cultural also contribute risks, including occupational exposures, dietary habits, healthcare access. Current methodologies regulatory frameworks often disregard sex gender disparities, resulting incomplete assessments suboptimal public interventions. This review addresses incorporation data into research, development advanced techniques, implementation targeted Addressing is crucial enhancing efficacy management policies safeguarding health. Future directions policy recommendations are discussed promote a more comprehensive practical approach assessment control.
