BACKGROUND: Intermittent fasting (IF) has gained widespread attention globally as a dietary practice for its potential health benefits and role in weight management, metabolic health, overall well-being. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics, reasons, outcomes of IF among individuals living Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. METHODOLOGY: A web-based online was conducted Arabia, over 3 months 2024. Among them, 17.7% 12-h eating schedule fasting, while 15.0% 16-h pattern eight hours food consumption. In this study, 11.5% lost <2 kg, 16.5% 9% 5 9.9 kg. Losing (27.4%; 93) becoming healthy (26.5%; 90) reasons given IF. Furthermore, 35.7% feeling better, 22.7% great after Significant differences found respondents’ age group ( 0.018). Time-restricted eating (TRE) has gained attention as an effective approach for weight management and overall well-being by focusing on limiting the window, rather than reducing calories. This study explores biopsychosocial impacts of TRE in free-living individuals using a qualitative design. Twenty-one adults (aged 27–60 years) from Western Australia who had practised at least three months were purposively recruited, semi-structured interviews conducted. The data analysed thematic analysis to identify key themes. participants reported range benefits, including loss, reduced joint pain, better digestion, improved mental clarity, increased energy, more positive body image. Socially, facilitated simplified daily routines but also introduced challenges, such disruptions social interactions family meal dynamics. Some mixed negative reported, changes sleep exercise patterns. These findings highlight TRE’s potential holistic dietary intervention. Further research, particularly well-controlled, randomised controlled trials longitudinal studies, is needed confirm these insights guide their appropriate application clinical public health settings.

This study used Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) with SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) to examine dietary and lifestyle habits in the Spanish population identify key diet predictors. A cross-sectional design was used, employing validated NutSo-HH scale gather data on nutrition, lifestyle, socio-demographic factors. The CatBoost method combined SHAP applied. sample included 22,181 adults: 17,573 followed Mediterranean diet, 1425 were vegetarians, 365 vegans, 1018 practiced intermittent fasting. Fish consumption strongest indicator, vegans abstaining some vegetarians consuming it occasionally. Age influenced diet: younger individuals preferred vegan/vegetarian diets, while older adults adhered diet. Vegans consumed less junk food, fasters more physically active. model effectively predicts but struggles others due imbalance, highlighting need for larger studies plant-based fasting diets.

This study analyzes the significance of food sustainability and consumption organic local products within Spanish population. A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1087 adults, with data collected from December 2023 to March 2024 using validated NutSo-HH questionnaire. Sociodemographic variables, dietary habits, concerns were assessed. Traditional statistics used influence sociodemographic whereas principal component analysis (PCA) identify correlations between health-related variables. The results indicated a higher awareness women middle-aged adults compared younger individuals. Additionally, respondents education levels reported greater frequency product consumption. At same time, most participants expressed moderate importance toward fewer consistently purchased products. PCA revealed positive correlation fruits, vegetables, pulses while showing negative association fast ultra-processed foods. Furthermore, individuals displayed slightly preference for sustainable options. These findings underscore factors on choices, highlighting potential role targeted educational initiatives promote healthier environmentally friendly eating habits.

Background/Objectives: Binge Eating Disorders are severe mental and physical health conditions, closely linked to lifestyle habits. Aim: This study examines the prevalence of eating disorders, particularly anorexia and bulimia nervosa, among middle-aged Spaniards, noting their rising incidence in men as well women. It explores how these disorders relate to sociodemographic factors lifestyle habits. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from August 2020 November 2021 via online platforms. Participants were Spanish nationals aged 31–50 years residing Spain. Results: Out 9913 respondents, 96.66% reported no diagnosed while 3.34% one or more (0.36% nervosa; 0.53% 1.97% other disorders; 0.48% multiple disorders). Concerns about body image lack control over food intake by 50% 28%, respectively, suggesting potential undiagnosed disorders. Significant BMI differences noted between healthy individuals those with bulimia. Conclusions: Anorexia affect both adolescents individuals, challenging existing stereotypes. The high disorder behaviors highlights need for early detection. The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in habits regarding health and lifestyle Spanish population during after COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional design used. Data were collected pandemic from 22,181 participants 3907 using NutSo-HH Scale, assessing demographic, nutritional, variables. Key findings reveal a slight increase exercise duration (+6.61%) post-pandemic, along with reductions fried food (-3.57%), juice (-6.45%), alcohol consumption (-9.66%). Conversely, there notable increases ultra-processed foods (+2.16%), soft drinks (+6.47%), coffee/energy (+38.95%). Sleep quality, body image, self-perceived showed minor declines. These indicate that despite some positive behavioral changes, is still significant dependence on unhealthy dietary choices, negatively impacting both mental physical health. results highlight need for public strategies which encourage healthier eating, increased activity, better sleep quality reduce long-term effects brought by Focused interventions are necessary curb rising sugary beverages while fostering overall well-being. Eating disorders represent a complex and multifaceted public health challenge, highly prevalent among young people. Background Objectives: To examine the prevalence of eating in Spanish adult population aged 18–30 years, their correlation with various habits lifestyle factors. Materials Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional survey was carried out using non-probabilistic snowball sample. The valid reliable NutSo-HH Scale employed to collect data on nutrition, lifestyle, habits. Results: Data were collected from 9692 adults, which 101 (1.04%) diagnosed anorexia nervosa 71 (0.73%) bulimia nervosa. significantly higher (p < 0.001) women than men, regardless socio-demographic variables such as educational level, income, region, size city residence. considerable percentage participants showed possible symptoms disorders. Nutritionally, individuals consumed less fast food fried or ultra-processed but tended consume coffee energy drinks more frequently. Additionally, sleep quality duration adversely affected compared general population. Sedentary lifestyles did not differ between those healthy individuals, though physical activity increased people bulimia. Conclusions: interplay adults’ dietary habits, factors, mental underscores urgent need for targeted interventions effectively address these challenges.
