Background/Objectives: With the increasing life expectancy and, as a result, aging of global population, there has been rise in prevalence chronic conditions, which can significantly impact individuals’ health-related quality life, multidimensional concept that comprises an individual’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing. While balanced, nutrient-dense diet, such Mediterranean is widely recognized for its role disease prevention, particularly reducing risk cardiovascular diseases certain cancers, potential benefits extend beyond these well-known effects, showing promise improving physical mental wellbeing, promoting life. Methods: A systematic search scientific literature electronic databases (Pubmed/Medline) was performed to identify potentially eligible studies reporting on relation between adherence diet published up December 2024. Results: total 28 were included this review, comprising 13 conducted among general population 15 involving various types patients. Overall, most showed significant association HRQoL, with results retrieved domains suggesting seems play relevant both people affected by conditions inflammatory basis. Conclusions: Adherence provides preventing managing commonly associated populations. Furthermore, it enhances overall health individuals, ultimately supporting more effective less invasive treatment approaches diseases.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) contribute to endothelial dysfunction, platelet activation, and coagulation abnormalities, promoting thrombus formation. Given the growing interest in non-pharmacological approaches modulate oxidative stress, we examine potential of various dietary interventions antioxidant supplementation reducing damage preventing thrombotic events. Key patterns, such as Mediterranean, Dietary Approaches Stop Hypertension (DASH), ketogenic diets, well antioxidant-rich supplements like curcumin, selenium, polyphenols, demonstrate promising effects improving stress markers, lipid profiles, inflammatory responses. This review highlights recent advances field, drawing from vitro, ex vivo, clinical studies, underscores importance integrating strategies into preventive therapeutic for managing thrombosis cardiovascular health. Further research is needed better understand long-term personalize these optimizing patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) involves β‐amyloid plaques and tau hyperphosphorylation, driven by oxidative stress neuroinflammation. Cyclooxygenase‐2 (COX‐2) acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activities exacerbate AD pathology. Olive leaf (OL) extracts, rich in bioactive compounds, offer potential therapeutic benefits. This study aimed to assess the anti‐inflammatory, anti‐cholinergic, antioxidant effects of three OL extracts (low, mid, high content) vitro their protective against AD‐related proteinopathies Caenorhabditis elegans models. were characterized for phenolic composition, AChE COX‐2 inhibition, as well capacity. Their on intracellular mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) tested C. models expressing human Aβ proteins. Gene expression analyses examined transcription factors (DAF‐16, skinhead [SKN]‐1) targets (superoxide dismutase [SOD]‐2, SOD‐3, GST‐4, heat shock protein [HSP]‐16.2). High‐OL extract demonstrated superior inhibition Low‐ high‐OL reduced aggregation, ROS levels, proteotoxicity via SKN‐1/NRF‐2 DAF‐16/FOXO pathways, whereas mid‐OL showed moderate through proteostasis modulation. In models, low‐ mitigated levels SOD‐2 but had limited levels. also increased GST‐4 low mid enhanced protect modulating stress, inflammation, proteostasis. most promise nutraceutical development due its robust profile activation key pathways. Further research is needed confirm long‐term efficacy.

ABSTRACT Garlic is a horticultural product highly valued for its culinary and medicinal attributes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the composition garlic hydrophilic extract as well influence on redox biology, Alzheimer's Disease (AD) markers aging, using Caenorhabditis elegans experimental model. rich in sulfur compounds, highlighting presence other compounds like phenolics, antioxidant property corroborated. Regarding AD markers, acetylcholinesterase inhibitory capacity demonstrated vitro. Although did not modify amyloid β‐induced paralysis degree, it able improve, dose‐dependent manner, some locomotive parameters affected by hyperphosphorylated tau protein C. . It could be related effect found GFP‐transgenic stains, mainly regarding increase gene expression HSP‐16.2. Moreover, an initial investigation into aging process revealed that successfully inhibited accumulation intracellular mitochondrial reactive oxygen species aged worms. These results provide valuable insights multifaceted impact extract, particularly context neurodegenerative processes. This lays foundation further research avenues exploring intricate molecular mechanisms underlying effects translation potential therapeutic interventions age‐related conditions.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a global health concern linked to increased mortality. Diets rich in plant-derived compounds, such as polyphenols, have shown potential benefits for MetS. Among these, flavan-3-ols, class of commonly occurring polyphenolic are known their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, we hypothesize that flavan-3-ols intake negatively associated with mortality risk MetS population. This study analyzed NHANES data (2007-2008, 2009-2010, 2017-2018). Flavan-3-ol monomer were obtained from the USDA Flavonoid FNDDS databases. Associations assessed using Cox regression, survival differences compared Kaplan-Meier curves, non-linear trends examined restricted cubic splines. Subgroup analyses conducted explore effect modifications. Over median follow-up period 114 months, 1,856 participants survived, while 329 deaths recorded. In Model 3, highest tertile (T3) flavan-3-ol exhibited 33% lower all-cause those lowest (T1) (HR = 0.67, 95%CI: 0.49-0.92). For monomers, hazard ratios ranged 0.55 higher levels epigallocatechin 0.71 gallocatechin. curves indicated significant status across dietary groups. However, no association was found between cardiovascular risk. Additionally, spline (RCS) analysis did not reveal any relationship, interaction effects observed subgroup analysis. Higher

This study presents the metabolomic profiles of four Ribes species (Ribes pauciflorum Turcz., triste Pall., dicuscha Fisch., and aureum Purch.). The plant material was collected during two expeditions in Russian Far East. Tandem mass spectrometry used to detect target analytes. A total 205 bioactive compounds (155 from polyphenol group 50 other chemical groups) were tentatively identified berries extracts species. For first time, 29 constituents genus Ribes. newly polyphenols include flavones, flavonols, flavan-3-ols, lignans, coumarins, stilbenes, others. detected are naphthoquinone (1,8-dihydroxy-anthraquinone, 1,3,6,8-tetrahydroxy-9(10H)-anthracenone, 8,8′-dihydroxy-2,2′-binaphthalene-1,1′,4,4′-tetrone, etc.), polyhydroxycarboxylic acids, omega-3 fatty acids (stearidonic acid, linolenic acid), Our results imply that rich polyphenols, especially flavanols, anthocyanins, flavan-3-ols. These indicate utility for health pharmaceutical industry.
