Factors Contributing to Breastfeeding Cessation Among Arab Women in Israel

Background/Objectives:
Breastfeeding
provides
significant
health
benefits
for
both
infants
and
mothers,
but
many
women
discontinue
earlier
than
recommended.
This
study
investigates
the
factors
contributing
to
early
breastfeeding
cessation
among
Arab
in
Israel,
focusing
on
multiple
factors,
such
as
socio-demographic,
work-related,
cultural,
religious,
impacting
duration
shaping
practices.
Methods:
A
cross-sectional
survey
was
conducted
349
women,
65%
of
whom
were
Muslim
35%
Christian.
Logistic
regression
analyses
used

predictors

Results:
Findings

that
Christian
more
likely
stop
their
counterparts.
Mothers
with

or

BACKGROUND
Human
milk
oligosaccharides
(HMOs)
are
bioactive
components
of
breast
with
diverse
health
benefits,
including
shaping
the
gut
microbiota,
modulating
immune
system,
and
protecting
against
infections.
HMOs
exhibit
dynamic
secretion
patterns
during
lactation,
influenced
by
maternal
genetics
environmental
factors.
Their
direct
indirect
antimicrobial
properties
have
garnered
significant
research
interest.
However,
a
comprehensive
understanding

efficacy

underexplored.
AIM
To
synthesize
current
evidence
on
lactation

METHODS
