Aim:
The
purpose
of
this
retrospective
observational
study
was
to
compare
peripheral
venous
cannulation
performed
under
ultrasound
guidance
by
expe-rienced
and
inexperienced
nurses.
Material
Methods:

eighty-seven
charts
successful
ultrasound-guided
cannulations
experienced
operators
over
a
5-month
period.
Results:
In
the
group,
an
average
1.31
puncture
attempts
were
(median=1),
in
group
that
number
1.42
(median=1).
One
attempt

for
76.6%
(n=36)
72.5%
(n=29)
cannulations,
respectively.
Experienced
nurses
needed
statistically
signif
i
cantly
less
time
successfully
vessel
(p=0.003).
Conclusions:
Implementing
procedure
inserting
midline
catheters
should
be
based
on
properly
conducted
training
supervised
clinical
experience.
Performing
adequate
during
reduced
required
decreased
failures.
Completing
20
50
course
makes
it
possible
achieve
high
success
rate
vascular
access
insertion
with
minimum
attempts.
