Efficacy of hyperimmunized egg yolk antibodies (IgY) against Campylobacter jejuni: In Vitro and In Vivo evaluations

Campylobacter
infections
are
a
prevalent
cause
of
diarrheal
disease
in
humans
and
the
most
significant
zoonotic
pathogens
worldwide.
Human
campylobacteriosis
is
generally
via
ingestion
contaminated
poultry
products.
However,
based
on
recent
studies
chicken
egg
yolk
antibody
(IgY)
powder
has
great
potential
to
reduce
cecum
load
jejuni
(C.
jejuni)
broilers.
To
understand
effective
economically
feasible
dosage,
two
immunization
challenge
were
conducted
using
30
layer
hens
250
broiler
chickens
found
scientific
approach,
starting
with
vitro
evaluations
progressing
vivo
confirmed.
In
this
study
it
was
demonstrated
that
specific
IgY
(SIgY),
produced
by
immunized
bacterin,
highly
inhibiting
bacterial
growth
adhesion,
as
well
exhibiting
bactericidal
agglutination
properties

Abstract
Multiple
