Neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, are among the most significant health concerns worldwide, characterized by neuronal dysfunction, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, protein misfolding. Epigallocatechin gallate, a green tea polyphenol, has been reported to possess multifaceted neuroprotective properties. It reduces stress through free radical scavenging, activation of antioxidant enzymes, stabilization mitochondrial function. also inhibits neuroinflammation modulation key signaling pathways. suppresses amyloid-beta aggregation in Alzheimer’s alpha-synuclein fibrillation thus attenuating toxic accumulation. Its activity induction autophagy promotion synaptic plasticity supports survival However, low bioavailability metabolic instability hinder its translation into clinic. Strategies nanoparticle encapsulation, structural modifications, combination therapies being explored overcome these challenges. Future research could establish epigallocatechin gallate as viable candidate for managing neurodegenerative disorders.

BACKGROUND Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory condition characterized by periodontal pocket formation, clinical attachment loss, and destruction of alveolar bone. Its conventional treatment primarily involves mechanical debridement plaque control, but localized antimicrobial therapy offers site-specific advantages. While antibiotics such as metronidazole doxycycline are commonly used, green tea extract, which rich in epigallocatechin gallate, has been proposed promising alternative for local drug delivery due to its anti-inflammatory properties. AIM To compare the efficacy extract gel ornidazole adjuncts scaling root planing (SRP) patients with periodontitis. METHODS Teeth probing depths (PPD) 4-7 mm were selected. Participants’ baseline oral hygiene index-simplified, index, PPD recorded. The participants randomized into two groups: One received after SRP, other gel. Subgingival was performed, refrained from brushing or interproximal cleaning ten days. Their parameters re-evaluated one month. RESULTS decreased significantly month both groups. However, group exhibited superior outcomes group, mean difference 0.28 ± 0.78 at (P < 0.007). CONCLUSION As an adjunct showed greater improving than

Abstract Aim Enterococcus faecalis is a significant pathogen in endodontic infections, often leading to treatment failure root canal therapy and contributing chronic infections. The growing concern over antimicrobial resistance highlights the need for alternative approaches. This study aims evaluate antibacterial properties of aqueous green tea ( Camellia sinensis ) peppermint Mentha × piperita extracts, focusing on their phytochemical profiles activity against E. , major Material Methods Phytochemical analysis extracts was conducted determine content key compounds, including tannins, flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, total polyphenols. as well (–)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), (–)-epicatechin, caffeic acid, rosmarinic assessed using broth dilution method minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) clinical strains. Results Green extract showed superior (MIC/MBC 1.25–2.5/5–10 mg mL −1 ), with EGCG exhibiting highest efficacy 0.25–0.5/1 ). Peppermint demonstrated moderate activity, its active showing higher MIC/MBC values. A 1:1 mixture both antagonistic effects, yielding MIC MBC values compared individual extracts. Conclusions results suggest that tea, particularly EGCG, holds potential oral health applications due strong . findings indicate could contribute effective -related although combination may not provide additive benefits.

Background: Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), a potent compound found in green tea, is renowned for its multifaceted health benefits. Unfortunately, despite therapeutic potential, the bioavailability of EGCG remains challenge and differences by mode administration significantly influence efficacy. Oral intake often results low absorption due to factors such as first-pass metabolism limited intestinal permeability. Our study focuses on TèPigal 300®, product containing 300 mg EGCG, comparing plasma concentration profile that tea. Methods Findings: Through in-vitro dissolution studies, we observed significant release alkaline pH conditions, closely mimicking environment, supporting effectiveness tablet formulation enhancing absorption. The clinical aspect our research involved 22 healthy subjects evaluate relative based profiles (AUC) from one 300® comparison with consumption cup Notably, 10 was detectable bloodstream within 15 minutes, increasing levels up 60 minutes. This pattern suggests efficient following release. Further 1 tea 12 highlighted superior oral tablets over beverage intake, quantifying this difference being equivalent consuming 21 cups Conclusion: underlines advantage providing more convenient form consumption, leading potentially greater promising open avenues future improving through new technologies nutrients synergies.
