Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is now the world’s top seventh cause of death from a non-communicable disease, and its incidence projected to increase further as major risk factors, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD), continue rise. Current evidence has linked increased prevalence CKD, NAFLD chronic exposure metal pollutant cadmium (Cd). Exposure Cd widespread because diet main route for most people. Notably, however, health dietary underappreciated, existing tolerable guidelines do not afford protection. New health-protective are needed. From one’s diet, absorbed by intestinal epithelium where it passes through accumulates within tubular epithelial cells. Here, bound metallothionine (MT), gradually released, induces damage, tubulointerstitial inflammation fibrosis, nephron destruction. The present review provides an update on our knowledge levels that found be associated with NAFLD, mortality cardiovascular disease. It discusses co-existence hypertension CKD in people environmentally exposed Cd. highlights nuclear mitochondrial targeting zinc deficiency universal cytotoxic mechanisms Special emphasis placed novel antioxidative function involving de novo heme biosynthesis induced expression oxygenase-1 (HO-1). Other exogenous biomolecules promising anti-Cd toxicity highlighted.

Abstract This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the phenolic constituents and antioxidant properties C. comosum , complemented by an evaluation its acute toxicity in vivo. Employing spectrophotometric techniques, we quantified total polyphenol content (TPC) flavonoid (TFC) using gallic acid quercetin standards, respectively. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was utilized to identify quantify individual compounds. Antioxidant efficacy measured through assays assessing capacity, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, reducing power (RP). The revealed substantial 185.073 mg GAE/g DW 21.75 QE/g DW. HPLC detected eight distinct compounds, with rutin emerging as most predominant. aqueous extract exhibited pronounced activity, significant inhibition across tested assays. Acute studies on Wistar rats indicated favorable safety profile, showing no mortality or behavioral changes at doses up 2000 mg/kg. In conclusion, demonstrates rich reservoir secondary metabolites potential, affirming potential candidate for therapeutic applications. However, additional vivo are essential fully elucidate profile.

Abstract Nigella sativa ( N. ) L. (Ranunculaceae), commonly referred to as black cumin, has a long history of usage an herbal remedy. It been utilized conventionally and in clinical settings treat various illnesses. Six groups male Wister rats were randomly selected Gp I, represented control; II administered aqueous extract (NSAE); 200 mg/kg/d, III received silver nanocomposite (NS-Ag-NC); 0.25 mg/kg/d; IV thioacetamide (TAA);100 mg/kg; thrice weekly Gps V VI NSAE NS-Ag-NC with TAA for six weeks, respectively. Findings showed that GC-MS analysis high concentration phytochemicals strong antioxidant activity. Results revealed administration elevated TBARS, H 2 O , PCC, NO levels, kidney function parameters, LDH activity, up-regulated TNF-α, IL-1β, NF-kβ, COX-2 gene expressions. In contrast, enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidants ALP activity extensively diminished. Also, severe abnormalities lipid profile, hematological histopathological features noted. On the other hand, or followed by intoxication reduces renal impairment, restores system, downregulates expression genes rats’ tissues. Collectively, more prevalent nephroprotective impacts than can adjust oxidant/antioxidant pathways besides their anti-inflammatory efficacy against toxicity.

This study investigates the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using Helianthemum lippii extract and evaluates their photoprotective, anti-hemolytic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties compared to various fractions, including total aqueous (AE), flavonoid monoglycosides (FMG), diglycosides/triglycosides (FDG/FTG), tannins (TN), anthocyanins (AC). is rich in bioactive compounds such as caffeic acid, p-coumaric gallic known for therapeutic potential. aims determine whether embedding these phytochemicals into Ag NPs enhances biomedical applications natural fractions. were synthesized through a green approach, physicochemical properties, size morphology, characterized. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used identify key Biological assays conducted assess photoprotective efficacy (sun protection factor, SPF), antibacterial activity (minimum inhibitory concentration, MIC), potential (percentage inhibition), hemolytic with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) serving control. HPLC analysis confirmed presence compounds, AE extract. The spherical an average diameter 35 nm had adsorbed on surface. AC fraction demonstrated highest SPF (28.27), followed by TN (27.99), (23.20), (22.50), while FMG exhibited moderate (19.39) commercial sunscreen Avene® (40.00). superior MIC values 0.2 mg/mL against Pseudomonas aeruginosa 0.4 Bacillus subtilis, outperforming AE, which 2.81 mg/mL. Anti-inflammatory showed that achieved 79.8% inhibition at 400 μg/mL, surpassing (71.75%) (67.9%), comparable diclofenac (72.63%). Hemolysis revealed induced only 1.35% hemolysis, lower than (1.91%) significantly below SDS (90.48%). findings demonstrate lippii-derived exhibit enhanced anti-inflammatory, anti-hemolytic While slightly multifunctional bioactivities underscore applications. integration efficacy, making them promising candidates advanced pharmaceutical formulations topical protective agents.

ABSTRACT The study explored the efficacy of Salvia chudaei ethanolic extract in managing hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and oxidative stress induced by Triton X‐100 Wistar rats. Twenty‐four rats were divided into four groups: Control, S. ‐treated, Triton‐induced hyperlipidemic, a combination + treatment. raised serum levels total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) while lowering high‐density (HDL) leading to marked increased malondialdehyde (MDA) reduced antioxidant activity liver kidney tissues. Administration effectively reversed these adverse effects, significantly LDL levels, improving HDL cholesterol. It also enhanced defenses markers, demonstrating its protective role against metabolic dysfunction. High‐performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed presence bioactive compounds that contribute benefits. findings suggest possesses strong antihyperlipidemic, antihyperglycemic, properties, making it promising natural agent for preventing treating hyperlipidemia stress. This positions as potential new therapeutic approach management disorders.
