Chronic
kidney
disease
(CKD)

cause
of
death
from
a
non-communicable
disease,
and
its
incidence
projected
to
increase
further
as
major
risk
factors,
including
obesity,
diabetes,
hypertension,
non-alcoholic
fatty
liver
(NAFLD),
continue
rise.
Current
evidence
has
linked
increased
prevalence
CKD,
NAFLD
chronic
exposure
metal
pollutant
cadmium
(Cd).
Exposure

Abstract
This
study
provides
a
comprehensive
analysis
of
the
phenolic
constituents
and
antioxidant
properties

complemented

an
evaluation

acute
toxicity
in
vivo.

spectrophotometric
techniques,

quantified
total
polyphenol
content
(TPC)
flavonoid
(TFC)
using
gallic
acid
quercetin
standards,
respectively.

identify

compounds.
Antioxidant
efficacy

through
assays

capacity,
