pH-responsive dual-loaded nanoplatforms based on polyamidoamine dendrimer with a hydroxyl-terminated surface (PAMAM–OH), generations 3, 4, and 5 (G3, G4, G5, respectively), were loaded Peganum harmala alkaloid extracts (H) tannic acid (TA) tested against breast cancer cells. At diagnosis, about 35% of pancreatic cancers are at the locally invasive yet premetastatic stage. Surgical resection is not a treatment option, leaving patients with largely incurable disease that often evolves to polymetastatic stage despite chemotherapeutic interventions. In this preclinical study, we hypothesized cancer metastasis can be prevented by inhibiting mitochondrial redox signaling MitoQ, mitochondria-targeted antioxidant.
